Well, there really can't be much advance registration as nobody knows whether they are free on that unknown day. We had a hard enough time getting together when we had lots of advance notice, I'm not so sure about this plan. I would say set a specific date, set some specific rules about what kind of weather would make you bail and have a set backup date. I guess the only way this will work is via e-mail, listserv and social media. We can call it the flashmob open. Odds are I won't play if its during the week. When we had a built in hooky day that was set months in advance I could plan for it. This would be more doubtful.
Can it be at a course a little closer than Gurnee? sucks to be a member and never get to play in this event because of a 4 hour drive.
:)
I'm shooting for a weekend in March. That would be ideal. I'm going to test this concept. I don't want to set a date and have it raining or snowing. I don't feel like shoveling or playing in crappy weather. There is always that first awesome weekend of the year. This year were are going to have a PDGA event on it.
:)
Good Friday
How many people are off ?
april date
weather will be fine
If someone else wants to run this I'm all for it.

Who would play on Saturday March 17?
I cant my weekend to work
:)
not me. I hate world champions
:)
It depends on the weather. If the weather sucks count me out. If it's looking good I'm in.
I'll play the 24th

Who would play Saturday March 24? If you think you may play post your name here, if I get ten people that post I will run it on this date.
The problem is we have to wait to see when the club event is gonna be then you can decide when to have the tourney.
17 and 24 look good for me.
I miss when we had it on a Friday during the summer and I'd use a vacation day or call in sick. But, I'm not volunteering to run it myself, so I'd stick with the original Date TBD plan for the spring. I don't play much disc golf in March, so I'm non-committal to any day.

agree. The summer getaway Friday was always a delight. We all had #$%eating grins on our faces knowing we were getting way from reality to play a little disc golf in great weather.
March 24 Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 64....

Is this still in the plans? I didn't know. Nobody mentioned anything last week.
There are still plans. I want to avoid this weekend with the event in Joliet.
good friday ?
little warm up for swinging bridge open in pontiac
Mokena ?
did this club invitational happen already??
Not that I know of.
Final date is planned. Saturday October 28th.

I will have to miss this event for the first time in a long time. My daughter is turning 21 on the 27th and we are going to NY to celebrate with her. Even though I will miss it this year I like the idea of having the club challenge on this weekend. The weather is usually good and its often one of the last good crisp days of the year. I hope that's what you get.
I can't wait for this event. It will be nice going to a tournament with a drive that is less than an hour.

It's always nice to be close to home. Kenny Glassman is looking to add his name to the champs list!

That reduces a potential conflict for me. Really hope to make it this year.
And THANKS to everyone who cleaned up last Sunday! I truly was out of town, but it was for music, one of the few things I'd rather do than try to throw discs towards a basket.
Brett,
I'm in for this event. Do I have to do anything else other than say "I'm in" to get into this tournament?
Thanks again for setting it up!

Hoping the no rain holds out for Saturday.
You guys could help me out a lot by the following.
Place any fees in an envelope and label it with your name and contact info.
Club Memberships are $15 if you need to join or if you plan to renew for 2013 to get it on new tags.
Non PDGA Members Fee is $10
Pro Entry is $10
I'm going to run a $5 ACE-50/50 CTP fund. That will be on the side. 50/50 money will go to course improvements.
On 1,6 & 7, should it be on/over water OB, or just water?

Scott, if you have any Champion Teebirds 165-172, even (or particularly) metal-flake (CFR?) I'll buy one. nothing heavier or lighter though. I don't think I saw any at Manhattan but I didn't really look.
Damon I have 4 (2 @ 167 and 2 @ 172) in Metal Flake Champion. I'll bring them Saturday. Don't have any that light in regular champion.

167 is great!! Sign me up.
900 players meeting , 930 tee off, its lowered on the original thread .
scoot, been looking to pick up a glow leopard and a glow buzzz. If you have either of those, I'd be interested in seeing what weights you have.
I'll be bringing my buzzz's saturday - i have some glow left. I think 2 are 176g, the other 2 are 177+. No glow leopards.
Thnx Scott (or scoot, sorry bout that). I only need one, so if you want to bring the flattest one you have and save carrying the others, that'll work fine for me.
Lunch ideas ?
I have a small propane grill I'm bringing with me to cook my lunch. If anyone else wants to throw something on, they are welcome to.

I forgot to print these out. If you can print one out and bring it with you it'd be much appreciated. I plan to print 1 for each card here at home.
looks like great weather tomorrow.
Never to late John Cleaveland 29484 ;D
congrats Kenny!!!
Results are on the PDGA website. Thanks for playing and supporting DISContinuum.
Thanks Brett! Thanks Mike for helping with the scoring and getting the bagtags distributed. Considering that there were two separate sets of tags, they were distributed with minimal problems. For those of you who left before you picked up your tags they will go out in the mail tomorrow.
thanks guys for running the event !
