Title: Not 1 but 2
Post by: CEValkyrie on September 18, 2003, 02:44:01 PM
What a crazy day today. Stopped by Bevier to get in some practice & play 12 holes. Threw 2 drives from the cement tees on every hole. Hit an Ace on #6 with my Pro Beast. The wind was blowing 15-20MPH out there today. I threw a forehand hyzer & it crashed right into the basket wedging itself. Nothing like a wedgie ace. I then hit an ace on #7 with my star stamped Dr. Dye disc. What fun! :)

Thanks guys.

I phooked that up. Hit the 1st on #4. So no, not 2 in a row. Barry & Rene did not see it but saw it wedged after the fact. That Pro Beast is now a useless piece of plastic. Bent in half.

No one witnessed #7 & I still cannot believe it myself.

Dr. Dye  It was one of my X-Out Special Edition Valkyrie's that I just took out of a box 2 weeks ago. It has a blue star in the middle with red stripes flairing to the rim. You did this one quite a while ago & it has no Dr Dye on the rim.

You threw two drives on each hole...so they don't count!  :P

I'll be at Bevier from 11:30 AM until about 2:00/2:30PM. I'll get those flags up & paint the lines. They mowed yestarday & the park is looking good.

Flags up? So do you still need me to bring flags or other supplies to make the OB circle for 9?

Kelsey got her first ace on Sunday, Letter Hole A at Kensington Tunnel from the short tee.  It is about 200 feet down a gentle hill through a narrow tunnel of trees and one young tree guards the basket.  Because he is a young tree, he let Kelsey's UV Photon Xpress slide by and into the chains.  An older tree would have recognized that an ace would be too much for Kelsey's ego, and would have knocked the disc down.  Kelsey said to me, "It was a terrible throw.  It was going to go sixty feet past.  I was thinking, 'Hit something,' and it did."

Kelsey, Kira, Diana and Becky are playing.  Lynn does not feel ready yet.  Looking at the pre-registered field, and their ratings and scores from recent tournament, Diana has as much of a chance at winning in Intermediate as anyone.  Kelsey is playing her last USWDGC as a junior and will either get slaughtered by 850 rated Kella Rodiek, or that 850 rating is based on bad data and Kelsey will coast to victory.  Either way, this is her next to last tournament in the junior girls' division, with Iowa Worlds being her last.

Becky left this morning for Peoria. I'll be taking pictures for Rick again this year with my helpful photographer's assistant, Maddisen.
