Anyone heard of other courses this year?

18-Manhattan
18-Streator
I believe Knoch Knolls in Naperville is going to 18.
Rockford College is expanding to 18 with baskets on the added 9 going in the next week or so, hard surface tees this August.
Woodstock should be sometime this year though I've not heard specific dates.

I hope they redesign the existing 9 holes. The original layout is bad, and safety is a major problem.
Knoch Knolls is an older course that was designed when discs did not fly as far. The only safety problem is kids wandering away from the soccer field to play in the woods by the basket for hole one.

I once cranked one into the sideline spectators at the soccer field. Hit a guy in the arm who had biceps bigger than my legs. He hardly even noticed. I threw a sky high anny and just moments after I released a wind came straight down the field and elevated my disc higher than I've ever thrown anything. My anny just couldn't fight off that size of head wind and hyzered out and set on a glide path straight for the soccer field.
The interesting thing is that hole 1 appears to be staked out such that the soccer field is the fairway. I don't know if they are going to keep using that area as a soccer field or not. I'll have to check when they line the fields later this week.
Hinsdale (Katherine Legge Memorial Park) - 9 hole
Oakbrook (Central Park) is changing due to building expansion. "Unclear" of what the end result will be. MIght still be 9, might be expanding. Skunk (runs leagues there) is involved on this project.
Batavia (Wheeler Park) - 18 I believe. Could be just 9.
Palatine (Margreth Remier Reservior) - expanding to 18. Potentially by Fall 2012, might not be until Spring 2013. I'll reach out to my contact to confirm after Easter.
I have one more for you but I am blanking right now.
Might be adding one more to the list but one last meeting. I'll have a better idea the evening of April 18th. ;) It's borderline. I no longer have my hopes up although the Park District is interested in putting a course in the ground. I might have to find an alternative location. :(

An intern formerly working with Batavia Parks did a concept plan for disc golf at West Main Park. Has there been anything concrete past this point?
Wheeler Park is the existing course in Geneva.

Wheeler Park is in Geneva, course was installed last July. Batavia was looking at West Main Community Park last year, but they were moving slowly.

It's a slightly longer Diamond Lake Slough/Cary Pro-RRR hybrid type course. It has cement tees, solid signing, some fun factor with the elevation changes and the tunnel shot on one. The rough is brutal and if they do not keep in the up withe mowing it will be a very rough play. Distances are 210-360. The only basket I cannot reach (and I am weaksauce) is hole 7. Basket 6 in on the right down the hill so you don't have to walk down when you play. I threw a powered down tommy and dueced it with my putter. It's better than our average nine holers, but will never have that clean feel. They cut the course into a prairie with rolling hills to put in this course. Not worth a special trip, but if you playing in Crystal Lake, it's worth throwing for the elevation once. I considered it a one and done, but will check it out again next time I play out that away to see hole they maintain it.
Also Rolling Meadows is supposed to be a 12 hole course. Should be in by the end of the month.

I'd echo these statements. I hadn't played yet when you asked, but I just did today. I'll say this, it's definitely better than I expected. Lots of elevation changes, the shots are pretty, it's a fun little course. Cement tees, signs, tunnels, overall not bad. I really enjoyed it. *However*, the fairways are mowed only about 8ft wide and the brush outside of that is 2-4 feet at any point. There are holes where even a good shot would be very lucky to land on the "fariway". I had some great drives that landed 15-20 feet from the basket, but all were still in the brush and not on the mowed grass. The course is just a cut out praire, not a field or forest. If the course gets overgrown, it will get ugly. As it is already, we spent a lot of time looking for discs, on almost every hole, even on shots that were excellent because the brush is so hard to see in. Also there are several blind shots, making it even more difficult. As said, probably worth playing once, but not if you're coming from very far due to the rough brush and lack of real difficulty (but again, better than expected for most cruddy 9 holers in the area).
Also, I ran into Brett while I was there. Everyone's out playing these days.
I just reviewed Lake in the HIlls on DGCR. The course definitely needs to be mowed a little wider. That was crazy running into Keith out there.
Not sure if the address is perfect. This course is not uploaded anywhere yet. Found it yesterday on paper. Figured since so many will be over there this weekend I'd share

I'll be there Friday before I go to Sinnissippi. It's behind Long Shot 3312 W. Rock Falls Rd. From what I heard.
