Are those the same temps you put in the past Brett with the canyon shot?

Wow! Good for Tom. :) Thanks for all that work you did on those temps. Solid course now.

Has anyone taken some photos of the cliff shot that they can send me ASAP? It can be from the temp basket or the new permanent, thanks!

FREE PIZZA !!
Don't forget, (or if you were unaware), Air Play Sports and Espresso, in Sterling, is hosting a Player's Party with the Precinct Tavern right next door. Saturday evening after the tournament. Coupon in your Player's Pack for 15% off stuff at Air Play Sports or first two beverages for 1/2 price at the Precinct. Oh ya, we are also one of the sponsors.
FREE PIZZA for all players!!
We have extended hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday (6:00am till 9:00pm) to accommodate the Tournament. We also have live entertainment on Friday night and hopefully Saturday night.
www.airplaysports.com for our address and stuff.
woo! I always want to stop in there, but I never get a chance to do so. I will definitely be there at least one of those nights!
??? Well. There's now a chance I may be able to come for the whole weekend (Dad's day present)! Anyone know what the hotel situation is like around there? Sterling? Dixon? Rock Falls? Rather safe than seedy!
my favorite is in the rock falls area at the country inn, but they aren't available for friday and saturday night now :( I don't like that it was over $100 per night anyway. The Rock Falls Hotel used to be a Holiday Inn, but could really use a renovation. It's not horrible, felt safe enough, seems to be better than when it was a Holiday Inn at least (no breakfast there). The Super 8 I've heard that it is serviceable. If you can get a night at Country Inn at least I know they have continental breakfast (I never get to enjoy it because I have to be at the course before they open for breakfast!) For players it should be open in time though.

If you want to play it safe, stay close to I-88. There are some hotels off the expressway in both Dixon and Rock Falls.
Will be dropping the check in the mail tomorrow. See ya guys on Sunday!
It's going to be a great weekend of disc golf. Got a nice package of Paragon CTP's. Come on out!

Thanks for the info! Trying to make arrangements today! Yea!
Some have had issues clicking on the prereg link through illinoisopenseries.com, I know what the problem is, but cannot fix it until after IOS#51. Using this link solves the problem: http://krupicka.org/ios/preregister-ios-51
Mike, could you verify when you recieve my check? I just sent yesterday. Thanks, and see ya on Sunday!
We will be running random draw best shot doubles at 5pm if anyone is interested. $6 to play ($5 pot, $1 ace) with an optional $1 CTP for the cliff hole. We will only play 18 holes so that everyone has time to eat dinner and get plenty of rest before the tournament. Original holes 1-12 will be played along with the 6 new holes. Holes 13-17 across the street will not be played. If there is no ace hit, there will be a CTP throw-off.

the course ready and it's looking fantastic. The former temporary
holes are now permanent as the course has been expanded to 24 holes.
You will get a chance to play two of the most unique holes in Illinois
which include hole #5 the "island" hole and hole #23 the "cliff shot".
There will be two rounds of 24 holes played with baskets moved
between rounds.
The Valet Kings are kicking off play on Friday night. There will
be random draw doubles that start at 5:00PM. A round of 18 will be
played. Holes 1 thru 12 and 19 thru 24 will be played. All cash
payouts for top finishers.
There will be a minimum of $700 added to the MPO payout. All
Amateurs will receive a $15.00 pick your own player pack. Just like
all Illinois Open Series Events there will be lots of CTP's the second
round. Fade Gear has added some nice bonus payouts to winners and
Paragon has provided some excellent first round CTP's.
Saturday after awards the local disc golf shop, Air Play Sports,
is providing FREE PIZZA. You will find coupons in your player's packs
for discounts on merchandise at Air Play and "beverages" at the
Precinct Tavern right next door. Also note, for those of you in town
on Friday, that is also our FOURTH FRIDAYS in Sterling. Many of the
downtown shops are open and there will be a variety of live music and
local artwork on display. Both Air Play and The Precinct will have
live bands.
We would like to thank our sponsors DISContinuum DGC, Fade Gear,
Paragon, & Air Play Sports! We hope to see you this weekend. Field is
limited to 96 players each day and we strongly suggest preregistering.

Im only going if the best AM in the world goes. DAVID NELSON
lmao. good luck with that! don't think the little lady will allow him to play golf anymore?? :D
When are you pulling online registeration? Gonna hate to put myself on a last minute decision. I am back on heat/ice rotations on my arm. Stupid Job :(
Someone is going to have to teach me how to throw lefty at this rate. Or I'll have to get a new hobby like stamp collecting.
Registration closes Thursday night. We will be out at the course on Friday.

Why isn't there an icon of a smily face biting his nails nervously?
Thanks Mike! Super fast response. That guy's got my vote for state coordinator. ;D
great job IOS team. made the front page at pdga.com!!
Too bad the folks at PDGA don't proofread :P "thru" is not a word.
Sorry, my spellchecker didn't catch that.
thru, while informal, is an accepted spelling of through. So Brett is all good :)
Custom stamp plastic arrived yesterday - Metal Flake Destroyers and TeeBirds look sweet!
mmm... custom Innova plastic. Come get some this weekend!
Registration closes tonight for The Sinnissippi Open. We hope to see you there.

where are all the old dudes at? only myself and Fritz signed up so far?? come on Randy Sr. join us old guys, not those young guns in Advanced division.
Fritz would have to give me 3 strokes a round to play him at his home course Doug. He would still proceed to kick my ass. If a couple more grey hairs sign up in that division I'll give it a go Doug.
Pastore will be there for sure, and Scott Murphy in the Adv div will probably switch too. he usually plays Masters, but probably also wanted a division with more competitors? Tom Barnum is a homie that may play as well.
just hoping at least 2 more show up so there can be a 2nd place to play for, cause yea Fritz has it locked up I'd think!
heh, Rod moved from 2nd card up to win it all today. Rod in first, Dana in second. Dana with a 1st round Ace. Nice job guys. I'm sure Mike will have scores posted once he has a better internet connection. 81 players today.
Saturday results are posted:

Wow, weather was great! We got lucky with the rain missing us on Sunday morning and the temperature was fantastic! I don't know how many Sinnissippi IOS' we've done where the temperatures were in the mid to upper 90's along with the humidity but I only remember the first IOS at Sinnissippi being at a more moderate temperature.
Thanks to Brett, Mike and Scott for heading up the team that got this tournament done. There are many people that stepped up to help but without this core leading the way this tournament would not have happened.
Thanks for running this event, had a good time.Keep up the good work IOS crew. Sinnissippi is a great course, wish it was closer to me.
I also want to thank everyone for running a great tournament! I had a blast all weekend, the course was looking beautiful and things ran so smooth. I appreciate all the hard work that everyone does to make this happen and I thank you for giving me a super pleasant disc golfing experience. I, too, wish I lived closer to this course. What a challenge! And the roller opportunities...sweet! Thanks again.
I'm going to close up the books this week and submit everything to the PDGA. If you want to see your unofficial ratings, do so this week before they go official when I turn stuff in.
Thank you to everyone how came out and those that helped out to make this another successful event. From those that helped secure the pavilion to those who worked in tournament central to those who moved baskets at lunch, I appreciate all your help at making Sinnissippi a great event.
Thanks again to our Sponsors

I'm already looking at tweaking and improving things for next year. If you have any suggestions, please send them my way.
It looks like during the Sinnissippi tournament a car got hit by a disc and sustained some damage. I have vague recollections of this, but I don't remember any of the details. If you were aware of this and can help me fill in the gaps in my aging memory, please PM me.
Thank you
I remember on the picnic table hole (Hole 24?) a disc came in and hit the side of a car during the tournament.
