Denver plays New Orleans in the SB!!
The Bears will beat the Texans in the Super Bowl this season. 24-14. :o
Yeah, that's right. You heard it here first!
The only bowl game the Bears could win is the Toilet Bowl.
Always fun to make predictions in the pre-season.
I gotta know why you think the Redskins are going to make the playoffs. Sure Bob Griffin might be a good QB, but Cam Newton played some great football last season and the Panthers didn't make it to the post season.
thats why it's a sleeper pick Jason. but the Skins are a better defensive team, and RG3 has more weapons than just Steve Smith(Carolina) and Wash has an alot better coach! Those things and knowing the Cowgirls always choke under Romo, and who knows if Vick, Jackson, etc. stay healthy in Philly?? if I get 5 0f the 6 right, not a bad pre season pick of playoff teams?
I'm no expert, but the Redskins just don't seem like a team that is ready to move from the bottom of the barrel to the playoffs. I agree on the better coach in Shannahan.
However, what kind of weapons are you referring to? Santana Moss and then.......???
If they had a good RB....then maybe I could see them as a sleeper pick. They are at least 2 years away from the playoffs. Just my 2 cents.
Anthony Armstrong was on 62% of fantasy teams last year at Yahoo at WR. and they added Pierre Garcon, with Moss thats 3 WR's, and they have a healthy Cooley and Fred Davis at TE. So thats 5 guys to throw the ball to, when he isn't running the ball. And Wash always a RBBC team. Look back at the Denver teams under Shannahan, all RBBC!
Just heard this stat on the radion.
Open day 2010 & 2011 combined for 30 pass interference calls.
Open day 2012 there were 29 PI"s called.
Length or games went up 6 minutes from week 1 last year.

How did they look in week #1 vs a high powered offense like the Saints?? ;D
They looked decent against a team w/o a real head coach. It is far too early in the season to get excited about them or anyone else....even my beloved Bears although they sure looked good on Sunday. It will be far more difficult to contain the excitement if they beat the fudge packers tomorrow night. ;)
Saints were without head coach alot last year with his broken leg and they did fine. Yeah it is week #1, but RG3 looked like a #1 pick more than Luck.
P.S. 49ers have a real Defense, better than Chicago!! Good luck Thursday, but do you really think they will lose 2 in a row?? And they are at Home!
RIP Steve Sabol. He had more influence on the myth of the NFL than anyone else. The NFL films from the 70s were great. He changed the way stories about sports are presented. Every year the new Road to the Super Bowl creates new myths. The stories that he told will live on. If you have a chance check out Autumn Wind. It is a poem about the Oakland Raiders. It is a classic.
I'm glad I stayed up for that game. This should put a stop to this nonsense and these replacement refs. One of the most entertaining and mind boggling football games I've ever seen. Go Bears!
terrible, terrible, terrible! Packers got hosed!!
I think the art of compromise is dying. Everyone wants to go back to their people and say that they "won" at the bargaining table. It wasn't a compromise unless both sides hurt. If both sides walk away from an agreement not being very satisfied then you can conclude that it was a good compromise.
I don't know if the problem is that the NFL wants to break their union or if the problem is that the NFL refs all have real full-time jobs so they have the luxury to sit out as long as they want...or both or something else. But I do wish that they would settle this thing. We get it. The NFL refs are good at their jobs.
AZ/HOU/ATL all go to 4-0. Over/under 10 wins for AZ this season? I'd go under.
Peyton Manning 30/38 330 yds 3 TD vs OAK. Looks like he might be shaking off the rust?
The Lions are back to completely sucking. That was a good 1 year run they had of slightly better than average.

I'll take the over on AZ. The D looks legit so far.
Here are the W's I see on their remaining schedule: Rams x 2, Bills, Vikings, Jets, Seahawks, Lions.
Also happy to see the Lions back to their typical shenanigans. They need a new head coach ASAP. ;D
Arizona needed OT to beat the Dolphins!! Vikings are 3-1 and you say Arizona should beat them?? lol Under 10 wins for sure!!
Yes I do. The Vikings along with several other teams ((coughcoughSteelerscoughcough)) have been inconsistent to say the least. >:D
3-1 is inconsistent? Can I hit your pipe 1 time? ;) but yes, the Steelers look pretty bad 3 weeks into a 16 game schedule. But I am confident they will get things straightened out, once they get healthy (Harrison, Troy, and Mendenhall)
It took them OT to beat the Jaguars....great team there. :o
Then they lost to the Colts...another great team.
Their victory over the 49ers will prove to be an aberration for both teams by mid-December if not sooner.
Then they beat the Lions yesterday. As previously mentioned, it looks like the same old Lions again this year.
From my POV, that is inconsistent and nothing to write home about after 1/4 of the season. With upcoming games against the Titans and the Redskins, the Vikings fans may be thinking Super Bowl before too long. Can't wait!
well if the Vikings fans are thinking SB before long, what will Bears fans have to think about after they lose to Dallas tonight and fall to 2-2? not Baseball, we know that! lol
I'd like to argue against that, but Cutler usually does not play well for any night game. :-\
We will certainly be cheering for the millionaires and billionaires from the NHL to stop the madness. It's time to get back on the ice already!
I guess basketball is starting again soon as well. Hopefully D Rose can get back to the court at some point this season.
lol, at least he is honest!
actually I am awaiting the NBA season as well. The 1 Chicago team I can stand cheering for!
oh yeah, I forgot Romo played for Dallas. Dude is a major joke!
I think you must have also forgot, Cutler is 4-1 on Monday Night games, looks like 5-1 now.
Apparently, Cutler only sucks for the Thursday and Sunday night games.
Bears D looked good last night. Urlacher still looked to be a bit on the slow side. Thankfully they didn't need him to do much. ;D

1 sleeper team made it.
My Steelers played like our local High School team the last 6 weeks to get to watch the playoffs, but had 4 of the 6 AFC playoff teams, not bad.
NFC had a bunch of letdowns this season, only had 3 of them(terrible)
But I still see Denver playing, and Winning the SB, no matter who they play, as long as Peyton stays on the field. And he is the MVP, and comeback POY. I could see a C0-Both with AP though.
And hey Jasonc?? RG3 is pretty good, and Shannahan knows how to run the ball with his rookie RB, huh? Sure the Giants played like girls most of the year, but he did do what was needed to make it to the dance. See ya next year!
Way to go Doug... your sleeper pick Redskins made the playoffs while watching the rest of their crappy division barely even put up a fight for a spot in the playoffs.
BTW, looks like I was not too far off back in August with the prediction of a good rookie season needed from Morris, which obviously paved the way for Bob Griffin's performance.

Wildcard Weekend Predictions:
Bengals 15
Houston 23
Vikings 6
Packers 42
Colts 9
Ravens 15
Seahawks 31
Redskins 17
Packers got a gift with Ponder out. I think that they really toned down their offense after the first drive of the third quarter. I think they could of run up the score and chose not to. It should be a good game against the 49ers next week.
4-0 last week. Lets see if I can keep the streak alive.
Divisional Round Predicions:
People are expecting a blowout in this game because of how the Pats throttled the Texans a couple weeks ago, but I think people are wrong. You don't see good teams get blown out twice by the same team very often in this league. The Patriots have plenty of weaknesses of their own.
Houston 23
Patriots 24
I really want to see Manning vs Brady in the AFC Ttitle game.
Denver 31
Ravens 17
Packers 30
Niners 27
If the Falcons are way overdue to win a playoff game.
Seahawks 13
Falcons 34
This story here about Shanahan and RGIII's knee injury could blow up into some serious trouble for the head coach. I don't think the league will take kindly to him lying about a conversation with a doctor, and in light of how Griffin looked during that game today I don't think the media is going to let this one drop.

I'm pretty sure they already regret that decision, along with the rest of the NFL teams. Should be a good game tonight.
49ers will be tough to stap if Karpernick continues like this!!
Wow, Colin Kaepernick. Harbaugh deserves COY for making that QB switch. Had to be a tough decision with Smith having such a good season, but this Kaepernick kid looks unbelievable.
Manning looked old yesterday. The 70 yd TD was the worst defensive play I've ever seen, but Denver got outplayed overall.
agreed. that 70 yd TD with 0.33 seconds left was horrible. how do you let that happen as a Safety?? they teach the safety in JFL to play deep!! lol
That was a beatdown. A good year for the Packers. Only one team can win the Super Bowl. Looking forward to next year. Having Aaron Rodgers always gives the Packers a chance.
I think it will be the 49ers by more than a touchdown and the Patriots by less than a touchdown. Hopefully the games are as exciting as last week.
For me, after this weekend, it is all down hill on the sports scene until next fall.

I agree with the scrambling quarterback 49ers win. Baltimore is playing good and upset is in the making. And never give up on those Mighty Chicago Blackhawks Tom! They will be going uphill with Car Bomb back and a healthy Hossa. Some off season fine tuning was also done. Sorry for thread drift :) Miss my hockey!
These both look to be good games. I'd like to see the 49ers and Ravens advance, except that we'll hear more about the Harbaugh clan then we'll never really need to.
NE looks to be anywhere from an 8-10 pt favorite; If I were actually betting I'd take the Ravens objectively. SF is 3-4, but I'm not sure about that one.

I agree with the outcome of the games, but Patriots dominate the Ravens! I hope! HATE both teams, but can't have a division foe in the SB! Oh yeah, and I love watching the Cheaters lose in the SB! It's getting to be pretty fun! ;D
But Tom? you don't watch basketball, College or NBA?

Was a huge fan when Jordan was playing, but who wasn't? College BB is okay, I will watch it if I come across it, but I am not really a fan of any one team. Maybe this year will be different because the Big Ten is so dominant. I am like Randy more of a hockey fan, but hard to get excited when the bastards are fighting over money every couple of years.

I watched and played hockey since I was 6 years old. Hockey always get's a bad rap in the United States because people don't get it. The players in the NHL never walked out on the fans but the owners did. The players lost every time because the rich can hold out longer. I was hoping the players would hold out and give up a season to watch the owners struggle to pay rent on those buildings and have the little guy win for a change. I agree Tom, hard to watch Billionaires fight with millionaires! Sorry for thread drift again. I'll go back to hibernation. :)
Only 2-2 last week on predictions.
San Fran 17
Atlanta 20

WOW, Falcons to pull it out? That's a pretty bold pick, unless they know how to stop Kaepernick? If that happens, will be a boring SB! I think the 49ers tie Pittsburgh at 6 SB wins, as much as it hurts!
0 for 2 yesterday. Thank God I didn't place any bets.
I really don't like the Pats, so it was good to see them go down in flames yesterday. F Bill Bellichick. What a D Bag. I never thought they were anything special this season. Would have been more interesting to see Denver and San Fran in the Super Bowl. I don't really have a rooting interest in this matchup. I might have to place a bet on the game just to make it interesting. I think we'll all be sick of the name Harbaugh by the end of the game.
I'm guessing San Fran is going to be the favorite? Should be less that a TD though.
San Francisco -4. I thought it would be three. I would take the points if I was to bet, which I won't be doing. The games were very exciting yesterday. Tom Brady's body language was horrible at the end of the game. It looked like he didn't even want to be out there.

Losing sucks! :D
I agree Tom. If I were to bet on the game, I think I'd take Baltimore and the points, or Baltimore on the moneyline. Then again, I've gone against San Fran in every round and been way wrong. My gut feeling is to not trust Kaepernick. He's looked unbeatable, but I'm having a hard time believing he's going to continue this run forever. Against GB and ATL the running holes were enormous and the receivers were ridiculously wide open. If Baltimore can come in with a better defensive gameplan (which is likely), I think Kaepernick's inexperience could become a factor. Flacco has also been on a roll and there is alot more history to go on with him rather than just 2 playoff games. That said, I could see either team blowing the other one out. Its really up in the air.
My prediction:
Baltimore 24
San Fran 16
I am going with:
Baltimore 24
SF 19
I am just hoping for a good game. I think the two teams are evenly matched. There hasn't been a blowout in a couple of years. Maybe this will be the year, but I don't see that happening.
S.F. 35
Balt 24
Even teams. Go with the better field goal kicker. Ravens by 3. GO BLACKHAWKS! ;D

Henry Melton get's the franchise tag? WOW! Any interest at all in the Blackhawks this year? ;D
