This course is an 18 hole course with cement tees. It is fairly wide open with protected pins. Very flat!! The wind was terrible today. 6 holes 300+ & 1 hole 400+. I liked this course as well as Lombard Commons. It is very well worth taking 1 day to play both Madison Meadows & Lombard Commons on the same day. They are 2 miles apart. There were also quite a few disc golfers @ this course. Seems like the Lombard area has a nice draw. They had an article in a local newspaper about disc golf in Lombard. Thought that was pretty cool!
Sounds great! Do you know what night they have leagues?
This is my favorite course. It is flat, but has a wide variety of holes, with lots of trees to get in the way. It has long, short, lefty and righty holes. It also has a couple of tough alley shots which require a low straight drive, which I definitely have problems with. There is always plenty of people here to play, but it doesn't get too crowded because the park is huge with a lot of space between holes. I've actually been there on weekends when they have another 5-6 alternate holes set-up for a total of 23-24 holes. There is always a guy there selling a wide variety of discs on Saturday mornings. However, don't play this course after a rain. It gets extremely muddy if it has rained in the last 2-3 days.
Madison Meadows has recently been given a bit of a facelift. They have lengthened the course a little bit by moving some teepads and baskets around. 12 or 13 holes have stayed the same with the remainder changing some. The changes include a 600 ft hole with an impossible basket placed behind a grove of trees. Other than this change, the rest have made the course better and even more challenging. Overall, this is still a great course that I'd definitely recommend playing if you haven't previously.
Their leagues are on Wednesday nights at 6:00. However, a sign lists leagues as going through June 26, so I don't know if they continue after that or not. I've been told that they got 37 players a couple of weeks ago at $5 apiece. Also, the ace pool is supposedly up to about $200.
This course has been changed once again. They got rid of a couple of the new holes (one being the impossible #15 of 660 ft. behind a grove of trees). They went back to some of the old holes, so the course is now a mix of the old course and the new holes. I have also seen where they have added some pro tees in a manner similar to the extra 18 at Bevier. The 18th basket was pulled for some reason and has not been replaced yet. I think I was told that they pulled it for Lombard Fest over the 4th of July and have yet to put it back. Overall, this is still a very good course, and well maintained for the most part.
Wecome to the board. As a beginner living in the Lombard area, you may also want to try the other course in Lombard (the Lombard Commons). It's just down the street from Madison Meadows. It is a 9 hole course and is shorter and easier than Madison. Just a suggestion, but this may be a better course for you to learn on. I know while I was learning to play last summer, I found the Commons much more to my liking simply because my scores were much better there. There is also a White Hen Pantry just down the street (on Main St. I believe) that sells a wide variety of discs.
Today I went and played the Meadows. It was a great experience for only my 2 time out. I am having problems with my throw and there were plenty of folks who were willing to show me the proper way of throwing. The course itself was beautiful. When we started playing (about 6:30) they had football practice all over the park. There were only a few holes that we couldn't play (15, 16, and 18). I didn't keep score but I know it wasn't great. I plan on going back on Friday and maybe Sat morning
might be playing here early sunday
confirmed
will be playing here 8 am sunday
great day to play
got there by 8

from what I've heard there are no plans to replace #18 basket as it's been ripped off at least twice...lots of people are playing from #18 tee to #1 basket (700' ft or so). I was there Sat pm.
The basket on 18 has been replaced with a new Discatcher -
They are pretty much re-doing this course. Some of the holes have a similar layout, but, only 3 have remained exactly the same. They have moved pin placements, tees, they have added a red and a blue tee (concrete tees are whites) and seem to have made the pin placements a little more tricky. They are also adding new signs. I was there on Tuesday night and they are still working on the course. I was pretty impressed by the work they have done. In general the course seemed longer to me than it did before.
wow. sounds like a whole new course out there. i'll have to get down there and play it once they are done. i heard the cement tee pads were simply taken out of the ground and layed on top of the ground in the new spot. are they going to stay this way?
let me know when it is all done
i ll take some pix
Good to hear that the people are willing to tweak the course to make it more challenging! Playing the same old courses year after year gets too predictable. I look forward to playing the new layout :)
Quotei heard the cement tee pads were simply taken out of the ground and layed on top of the ground in the new spot. are they going to stay this way?
This seems to be the case. Other than the concrete being old looking, they did a really nice job with it. It's hard to tell they weren't originally poured there. There are still a couple they had to do at the time I was down there. It seems to be shaping up nicely though.
i will go take pix
just let me know when everything is done
not a lot of time for disc right now
but ill take the kid and have her take the picx while i play
just let me know when the course is done
------------------------------------------------------------
well this never got done i have not played recently due to continued ed class
sorry
Are there am and pro tee pads, or just one tee pad per hole?
I am going to try to play there Thursday @1 pm. I have to be in Aurora at 330 and hope to sneak away before then. If anybody is in the area and wants to play, pm me.
They have the one main tee pad. That is the white. Then, they have a red tee in front of that, and a blue tee behind the white. The blue and red are each designated by two 6 inch circles designating each tee. So each whole has 3 different tees now.
If it's not raining I'm going to check it out late Wed afternoon, play best shot if it's on.
pdga description makes it sound so sweet
cant wait to get out there
im thinking sat for a quick roundin the a.m.
I played here this afternoon. Most of the cements are in for the whiites (which I played). Missing 5, 10, 15, 16 as best as I can recall. There is a basket for 18. the reds and blues have a small cement marker like the alts at Bevier. I did not see these at every hole. I like the course. The back nine is longer with two 500+ holes. I was + 1 after nine and finished +7 playing well for me. Sorry I am likely to miss IOS#2. I am not sure the cements will be done. I spoke with a park guy and helped him move a tee sign. He expects to be focusing on the baseball diamonds.
that sounds most excellent
i cant wait!
If the weather is nice on Saturday (tomorrow) I'm going to hit this course. Send me a PM if you want to play.
I plan on attending the IOS #2 that will be there. Is it advised to pre-register? Since this is my first tourney I've read the 2005 IOS thread (http://discontinuum.org/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=1627) and what I gather from reading it is that I should show up on the 29th before 9:30 and have $21 (or $14- trophy only). Is that right?
Minor thread drift-
Chains: If you are free Sunday, you should consider coming up to Bevier for Best Shot doubles. You can meet other players and get a sense of competition in a much more relaxed manner. However, based on other posts I have seen a lot of players will be at a tournament in Olympia Fields. I figure somebody will be up in Waukegan. Play begins at 10. I like to get there before 9 to throw for a while and warm up. Bring a few $. $6 to play and an optional $1 for ctp (closest to the pin) and $1 ace pool.
Or you can play for the $2 option. You can't win any $ but it is a cheap way to find out if league competition is for you.

Thanks for the invite Chainmeister and Jon but I am attending the 2005 MS walk on Sunday so maybe next week.
I'll be running best shot on sunday.... provided brett gets the box to me
Brett would like you to pre-register. Jon would like you to pay at the event. I'm caught in the middle.
If you have the money now and might not have it in five weeks, pre-registration is advised. If pre-registration works for you for some other reason, go for it. ["But I have to play the tournament, dear. I pre-registered. Can't you videotape the wedding and I'll watch it later?]
Pre-registration is available for people who like to pre-register. Otherwise, we have never filled a split-day tournament. We won't fill at Lombard.
I did the MS Walk a few years ago. Early on I missed a turn. I got totally lost. I walked for about an hour and then found an MS route sign. I walked down the route for another hour [it was 26 miles, a six or seven hour walk]. A few joggers went by and then a big pack of joggers passed me except one. He said, "Are you o.k.? Well, if you're walking, I'm walking." Apparently my detour cut off enough miles to put me in front of everyone who was doing the simultaneous MS Marathon! So when I got in I was the first of the walkers. The lady was surprised because she was not expecting any walkers for another hour. I told her I was speed walking and smiled. The guy who walked in with me said, "He must have signed up wrong. He was with the runners." I said, "Whatever. Is that free food over there?"

I'm fine if everyone pre-registers. I know some people really want to and that's ok. We're getting better at it so it causes me fewer problems every time.

If you plan on attending I always advise PreRegistration. All you have to do is show up, sign your card, & get your player pack. Instead of waiting in line you can go out & practice.
I have no idea but i'd love to know what kind of #'s we would have had at IOS #1 if preregistration was not offered. It's always nice knowing there are going to be people showing up. There is nothing negative about preregistration.
so what happens if you pre - reg and then somethings happens that is unavoidable like 2 days before the event
is there a refund policy ?
just asking because someone will
i tend to pre register because when i know im playin im playin
when i came up to play fairfield a couple of years ago i pre regged but my ride (my brother ) was like the last one allowed in
he would have left my ass up there if he didnt get in - i guess i should have driven or got him to pre reg
i plan on sending a check for lombard sometime soon

I'll let the TDs give the official answer, but for Chris Heeren we rolled his entry fee to a future IOS event because he gave a couple days' notice he had an injury & wouldn't be able to play.
edit: to say that if you prereg & don't show up w/o warning on the day of the event, your entry fee gets put into the prize pool
The rule is, "No refunds."
If what happens two days before the event is we get a weather forecast for snow mixed with scorpions, you're out of luck because the rest of us play in snow mixed with scorpions. If you are injured a couple of days before the event, that's different if you let us know.
If you don't show and don't call, you just donated.
Reminders: Advanced and Pros play Saturday at IOS #2. They play Sunday at IOS #3. Player packs at #2. Double the payouts at #3 but no player packs.
I really love all the changes they've made to this course. It is much better than before. I can't wait until IOS #2
This course has 19 holes now. 4 holes have 3 Tees, 9 holes have 2 Tees, & 6 Holes have 1 Tee.
I estimated #16 around 240ft. & #18 around 280ft. #16 doesn't have a cement tee.
Here are the distances
(Scroll down on this page to hole by hole distances)
Tees-> Total D-> Ave Hole Length
Reds-> 5,286-> 278
Whites-> 6044-> 318
Blues-> 6812-> 359
Playing all Cements-> 6161-> 324

I totally understand this rule but won't it discourage pre-registration? I slept in just a bit too late for number 1. I don't mind forfeiting the $41 but it makes it very unlikely that I'll pre-register for another.
come on dude. at the big tournaments you HAVE to preregister and I can't imagine not showing up on time cuz I felt like sleeping in. what you do is set your alarm and get to the course at least an hour early.
I totally understand that it was my fault for oversleeping. My wife had a work function the night before and it went a little(a lot) late. It was my intention to attend but I thought I could grab an extra half hour of sleep that tunred into 2 hours.
Do the IOS events fill? I always preregistered for NC events because they do fill almost every time but I believe(although I never had to find out) that they also have a refund policy. At the very least you would get a players pack(not asking). Again, losing the money is inconsequential. It's just a policy issue that I don't understand.
none of the 04 or 05 IOS events have filled thus far. I'd say Rockford has the best chance of filling this year. By the big events i just meant like A tiers or the Homie. So far those are the only ones I've worried about preregistering for. I'd say if you are not 100% sure if you will be able to make an IOS event, I would advise against preregistering due to the no refund policy and the fact that you will surely be able to register the day of the tourney any ways. Even the Joliet tourneys are easy to register for on the morning of the tournament, but I always make sure I show up right when registration is scheduled to start.
perhaps Steve we should take this conversation to the IOS thread :D hope to see you at Lombard, cuz the setup is really awesome for the Blue tees right now.
Yes, this is probably not the correct place for this discussion. I look forward to playing Lombard in its new configuration. Hopefully I can make it up for the tourney tomorrow and IOS#2.
Crazy things going on in the city right now. Looking to buy a place in the city but the prices listed here would give me a house and a nine-holer back home. Throwing up a lot right now!
Great changes at Madison Meadows! Got to play it today and the fun factor went way up. Anyone know if they've started the Wednsday doubles yet?
QuoteGreat changes at Madison Meadows! Got to play it today and the fun factor went way up. Anyone know if they've started the Wednsday doubles yet?
I'd have to say this is my #2 rated Chicago area course right now. I had a blast the other night. Mokena would be #1.
I think I would rate Lombard from the Blue Tees as my #1 Chicagoland course. Mokena is really fun, but I love the distance that Lombard has.
Well, this is good to hear. I was really excited when I played this course the first time on the new layout. It just seemed like a better course than it used to be. I haven't played a ton of courses around here to give it a true comparison. I was hoping my excitement wasn't just because it was a new layout and something different. Seems my first impression was a good one now that others are agreeing it's a better layout.
Now if we could just get cement tees at Streamwood.

I edited the distances of holes above.
Hole #5 will have a Pro Tee.
Hole #16 will have a Pro Tee that is 10 feet longer than the regular tee.
Thanks.

Near a grill on the west side of the pavillion. The basket is placed North behind the cluster of cathing pine trees.
These IOS tourneys have been filling up quickly? I was considering trecking up there saturday, but don't get off work until 2:00 am saturday morning. Any advice on the latest I can show up to get in?
show up before 9am and you'll get in.
Registration closes at 9:30 a.m. The player meeting starts at 9:35. We stick pretty close to that schedule. The SAturday player meeting will be pretty quick. We will just review the out of bounds and remind the players that they are playing 20 holes so par 3 equals 60.
Because we do split-day tournaments we don't fill.
For Lombard, Advanced and Pro play Saturday. Intermediate and Recs play Sunday.
If you want to play Sunday you can. We have a lot of Intermediate rated players playing in Intermediate this year.
I'll be at Lombard tonight to paint the lines for the grass tees.
course is in great shape. flags are down which mark the tees that will be used for everybody on saturday.

This sux. I play there quite frequently and am actually going there tonight. WIll probably have to make a safari hole now.

Hole 13 seems to have been stolen............
I saw the park disctrict folk pulling baskets on July 6th, and I specifically saw them pulling out #13 (we were playing 19 and I was watching them). They had other baskets in the back of their trunk as well (#2, 4, 17 were already gone for example), is it possible that they just forgot to put it back? There were guys working on aerating the course after Lombardfest, so I figured they were pulling a lot of them to just work on getting the grass back in shape. I'm presuming all of the other baskets made it back in position though?
Let's just hope it is getting repaired or something and wasn't stolen... that would be awful!
Bumped into Mike Krupicka at Lombard last Friday. Some nice changes happening in Lombard. I didn't want to steal your thunder in case you wanted to post about it Mike, but I'm too excited to wait any longer ;)
Mike was out there with the park district guys and they were laying concrete down for tees 5 and 15. I'm presuming concrete went down for 10 and 16 as well. That should give concrete tees for all of the am/white tees now, yay!
Correct me if I'm wrong on this Mike, but they purchased brand new baskets for the entire course correct? They were just waiting for them to come in. I think one of the new ones might have been in on hole 2, and if so, they look like Mach V's. I don't remember hole 2 having a mach V basket, but that was what was out there on Friday.
It looks like hole 13 will also be back once all of the new baskets are in? Something like that.
Awesome job on all of the hard work put in to make that course better!
And oh yeah, there are now slats surrounding the first couple of trees down the fairway on hole 16. So what does my group wind up doing? The first throw nails one of those trees lol oh well.
I won't take the credit for planning it and working it out with the park district; that was the tireless work of Bill Kiel. Steve Matul spent the morning resetting the baskets so that all the number plates face the right direction, added concrete to the bases, etc. where necessary. There are now concreate pads for all holes. A couple were old tees that were moved and two were freshly poured. They had a real nice broom finish until some idiots decided that a nice tee pad had to be signed by someone who did nothing to help. I think we managed to get rid of all the stick in the wet concrete grafiti, but there was still a chance for more jokers to come around. We waded around the pond hoping that 13 had just been tossed in there but no luck. I did come out with a couple of Eagles on the trip in the pond. I believe the park district bought three new baskets. One will replace 13, one will replace one of the older basksets (#5?), and one more might make it a 20 hole course. I think the thought is to put it behind the cluster of pines the IOS tourneys have been using for #20.
Thanks for the clarification! Nuts, was hoping for all new baskets :) but some of the baskets were absolutely fine. Hole #4 basket could use a serious upgrade. I'm pretty sure that 5 is in good shape. Guess we'll see as time progresses.
So 13 was stolen after all huh? Bummer.
I don't know why some people think it's so funny to put your name in the concrete, but that's unfortunate that it happened. Hopefully nothing that was written or attempted to be written was in place when all of the concrete set.
Yay for all involved!
Went there yesterday for the first time on Independance Day. Chased off by Carnies! They built their carnival on the course. Told me I had to leave because they were roping the area off for the fireworks.
It was 10am.
I hope to be back soon.
I got some accuracy and distance practice on the football field.
whoops, I should have posted the Taste of Lombard schedule - it's running from July 3rd - July 8th, and they sometimes will take out a couple baskets during this time. A good portion of the field out by 19 gets completely trampled and destroyed. Then they go through and aerate the ground and work on reviving the grass. I don't know when the baskets will get restored if they do pull any this year, but I wouldn't expect it to be back to fully functional for another week or two.
my brother and i were out there today. when we were on the 1st tee the finished putting in 1. the holes we couldnt play were # 3,12,13,14,16,17,18, and 19
drove by later today and saw that 17 and 18 were in, so i'm guessing it's good to go, will check tomorrow 4 sure
So is enough of the course back together to play league tonight? I might be in the area and have my stuff in the car.
As far as I know. Game on. If there are holes still missing, I'm sure an alternate route will be arranged. I hope to see you out there.
Cool. Unfortunately, I can't play leagues. I will get out there mid afternoon for a round but will have to leave.
went out there yesterday for the first time since about April. They've *really* trimmed that place down a *lot*. Was it like that for IOS?
it was *indeed*
i think they added a large tree on hole 9 about 30 feet infront of the tee pad. off to the left a bit
Excellent course - very open but very nice!
I also ACE'D my first hole here - # 14 par 3 - i was with 2 of my buddies and they said the look on my face was priceless, very surprised.
i'm hooked.
nice man....#14 is a good ace in my book...if you're lefty its easier IMO but congrats on your first ace...still don't have one myself...now that i'm in DeKalb for school again, left coursless for the time being since ours is still under water.... :fenforcer:
we need more tournaments at this course.....
This course has seriously been on my "target list" all year long, but I didn't want to step on any toes for running an event - including the IOS, the best shot doubles Mike and Cathy Kamm ran, and then Steve's league nights.
I'd be more than happy to schedule an event there next year, but I didn't want anyone thinking that I'm in their "territory".
Mokena is a good example of another course that is worth more than just 1 tournament there per year (and there could quite possibly be more than just the Illinois State Championship tournament and I'm just not aware of it).
The IOS claims no territory and we only piss on the bushes if the bathroom is locked. ;D
We could call the IOSeries, "Tournaments without Frontiers," but no one would get the reference.
Now I got that song stuck in my head, thanks alot. :)
In all seriousness we welcome other people to run as many events as they want (just follow the normal PDGA process of getting scheduled, please). If they are good then we won't have to run so many!
Played Mad Meadows with a buddy today. Super swampy but nice to be playing in Jan. On a negative note, hole 8 on the left side of the fairway now has a children's playground that goes almost 3/4s of the way down the left side. This ultimately takes out the lefty shot unless they can throw over the playground equipment or the taller trees surrounding it. For rightys (like myself) my usual landing zone for that hole is right at the end of the playground. I landed right inside the rubber mat area. Come spring and summer this hole will be horrible to play with little kids running all over the place. they also planted a tree in the righty fairway about halfway, dead center. Lombard seems to be caring less and less about the golfers there. It started last year with the hesitation to move concrete tees or put up replacement holes, and now this playground which I know with chuckers and even the seasoned leaguer there will be some problems.
thats too bad cuz its one of the best holes on that course.
yes it blows that they put in the new playground but...since it will be OB it will be interesting to see how man people land there, also on and over (some) paths will be OB this will be a factor on holes 2,5,7,12,19

also on and over all paths will be OB unless there is major snow cover, this will be a factor on holes 2,3,5,7,12,13,14,17,19
what would be considered 'over the path' on 19? You have to cross the path at some point to get to the basket.... ???
He probably is meaning if you go over the path that circles the pond, if my memory isn't totally fried I believe it splits off near the pond with part of the path going towards the parking lot & the other continuing around the pond
actually "19" will play from the concrete pad to the aproximate location under the large cotton woods were it used to be (temp basket and then go from the "short" or "league" tee on 19 and play to the regular 19 basket as hole"20"
the aprox hole lenghs for those will be 385' and 315' respectivly

ah, got it, thanks. So the 'league tee' to 19 ("20") is the one that goes over the pond?
the one that goes over the pond is what they play for best shot doubles, so yeah, that's what it should be. *cringes* I'm always nervous when throwing over that thing, hope it will be good footing!
This (along with the preceding stuff) should be over on the thread for the tourney. But I would strongly advise against throwing over half frozen ponds. You don't want to tempt anyone to go out on the ice after a disc.

Stupid is as stupid does.
Played here today along with my little bro...muddy! and windy as can be out there...but all in all a very good time....haven't thrown for a while now, but boy did it feel good to get out there today
anyone gone out to Lombard since last week's snow? I figure it's still muddy, but is it slop muddy or just patches of mud here and there? A couple guys were thinking about heading out there to play half of the course.
It was very sloppy on Monday. It's playable if you aren't afraid of wet shoes and muddy discs.
thanks for the report :) It makes me wish that I brought another pair of shoes with me today. ah well, I'll just clean them afterwards!
two of the baskets have now been moived I was out there last wensday hole 6 vis now further back and a straiter shot almost in the location where it origonally was . and hole 8 is now much further over to the right than it was and can still be easily seen from the tee.
With the playground, hole 8 had to move. Does anyone know if doubles starts this week?
why did they move #6?
wow, I played 8 on one of it's final times in the previous location! It's a shame they had to move it.. I really liked where the pin was. I finally got the stupid hole with an easy 3 too.
I'm guessing with hole 6 it was moved because the tree that was relatively short yet an excellent guard from the basket was marked with a big huge Red X - more than likely meaning bye-bye tree. It was in bad shape. If that tree was removed, it would be a really open shot at the basket (still a big bend). However, I can make sense of the basket repositioning.
either spot it is still working realitively the same skill shot assuming, that the positionof the basket is far enough to the right to, make a bomb hyzer impractical, but i havent seen it yet, i am in new orleans.....this week

Exactly. The 6 and 8 tees will be moved slightly to accomodate the new pin positions when we can get the help of the park district.
Doubles will begin at 5:30 on April 9th.
Who still plays the Meadow? I'll be back in town for a month starting late July and want to hook up with a few golfers from a few years ago...and get practiced up for pro worlds.
I know the Kamm's still get out there, how about doug?, jeremy?, jay B?, Johnny better not still be at commons ;D, and someone tell Knudson that he's due for another smackdown at the Meadow.
See you guys soon...
jason rose is out there all the time along with john knudson....bogan comes to leagues too...

Nice! You probably make fun of retarded kids, too. :P
you all can make fun of Knudson if you want to but i don't know many people who have played in the USDGC
mumble mumble grumble " disc golf's for assholes" mumble grumble... ahh it never gets old
The Meadow lives!
See you guys soon and everyone knows I'm just jealous of mopey (aka Knood) ;D
Does anyone know the hole distances for Mad Meadows?
Look at the Google map or course routing for IOS2 (See course info thread).
Well, looks like the Lombard park district has decided to pick up and move tees around. All of my favorite holes on this course now suck. I don't know why they decided to change a perfectly good course and make it mediocre. Hole 18 really sucks now.
For anyone who doesn't know, 3 is longer and harder (that's what she said ;)), 6 is longer (concrete tee moved to the blue tee location), 8 is longer (concrete tee moved to the blue tee location), 10 is essentially the same shot, and 18 is tougher with a low ceiling that demands an accurate drive. Also, a practice basket has been added in the location of hole 20 at the IOS events.
I played the new tees today. It's what Jack described. We played 19 to the basket of Hole 20 at the IOS events which makes it longer but takes the pond out of it. They poured concrete where the Red Tee was on 19. We played that as 20. It gave us a long hole and the throwing over the pond for the finish.
18 was moved about 80 feet towards the parking lot where it plays under a branch and through the small trees that have been growing in. Still only 250ish. I threw a tommy and a RHBH. 3'd them both.
They pulled up the existing cement teepads and move them. They are not new pours. You can see the dirt patches and play from the old tee if you prefer. They also painted alot of the blue and red tees and they are easier to find.
interesting, it sounds like they are trying to take the main path out of the picture if they changed up 19 and added a 20 using the red tee. Wish I could have 3'd old 19, never came all that close, but at least I like that water shot - it completely messes with your mind when you're standing on that tee!
I like Madison Meadows... A big park with 18 holes plus a extra basket near the west parking lot near Madison st. In that corner, great for practiceing. Lots of people playing during the week but plenty of room for everyone.
I am DiscinFlight
and I'm heading for the Chains <==>
I've been doing some tinkering with the Lombard layout in the spirit of the USDGC.

I call it Lombard Gold, 9800', par 67. Lots of par 4's and two par 5's, with several mandos and OB lines.
anyone interested in having a small saturday or sunday league/tourney event? super informal, maybe 3-5 bucks per person, winner takes all.
i've played it a few times, shooting in the mid-to-upper 60's once and in the mid-to-upper 70's once.
i'd like some criticism on the course design, if anyone sees any better options or hole layouts. i tried to keep a good lefty-righty balance.
There are all sorts of things you can do to make Madison Meadows interesting. At one point I worked out a reverse route course.

Course closed Sunday.
Classic!
I wish I had a picture of the "Rogue Disc Golfers" sign.

Park District Pulls Baskets at Madison Meadows!
My buddy just told me that the Lombard Park District pulled all the baskets at Madison Meadows because a causal player hit a bystander in the head with a disc. What really sucks is that this one guy ruined it for all the courteous golfers that play that course.
Yes unfortunately this is the case....They are re-evaluating the situation basically b/c 2 people were hit with discs suffering injuries. I talked with the head of the park district and what not. They are deciding whether or not to completely remove both Lombard courses...which would be a total shame and I would hate to see it. The PD is working with the guy who runs league at Lombard. I play the course 4 - 5 times a week based on the proximity to my house. I have been talking to players at the course whenever I'm there about respecting the PD's rules and what not and about picking up trash and especially watching out for other park users!
Hopefully it will be resolved and one bad apple won't ruin it for the rest of us who play the game responsibly.
One bad apple ruined it for all of us there a couple of years ago. :P
I would not blame the thrower. Blame the idiot who thought a bike path meandering through a disc golf course was a smart idea.
It wouldn't surprise me if it was a football parent. I do recall a couple of times playing league there were the parents were all lined up on the side of the fairway watching them practice. We advised a couple to move as they were in the fairway. The response was more or less that they didn't care if they got hit. My guess is that they get hit too many times playing football as kids.
