Post by: jim on December 04, 2003, 10:24:46 AM
ho ho ho

HEY DISC GOLFERS -

What disc golf stuff are you expecting for Christmas?
What are you hoping for?
Are there any extra-cool gifts you're giving this year?
Do you have any special holiday plans?

:blink: The last DG Christmas thing I got was my Gateway disc(back)pack, Christmas 2001. It has held up well and I don't think I need anything DG related this year. Suprises are nice, tho. :D

As far as giving cool gifts, I cannot discuss my plans in this forum. ;)

Holiday plans...I am off of work 12/23-25! Yeah! :D Extended family stuff mostly on Christmas day. Jon, Maddi and I traditionally vote on which day to celebrate together! Chances are we will open presents the evening of the 23th or in the morning of the 24th (we like to maximize the number of days we can watch/play the new things for the PS2 before returning to our respective jobs!) There is always something under the tree for the PS2.  :lol:

I'm getting a the Texas Team Bag  by Revolution w/Quad Shocks from Carrie :D

I also want one of those new laser tape measures to stick in my bag. Use it for CTP's & since I play doubles all the time it's a quick easy way to check distances.

Travel as always to the Bloomington Normal area to see my parents. Looking forward to playing the new Maxwell Park Course in Normal. The PFC put this course in about 2 monthes ago.

Then i'll be busy with basketball practice & our Christmas Tournament.

sounds like the brakels have a plan . . . .
:D

i tried to get kirsten to allow me to put up a christmas basket, but no go.
i'd like to have a red galvanized basket with ornaments hanging from the basket's bottom, with an artificial tree top-piece stuck on top of the pole, and lots of shiney new plastic in the basket.

super-cool annual xmas party this saturday with super-cool friends down in da city;
no company party this year (thank the goddess);
on xmas we'll stop and see cousins in Highland Park, aunt in Wkgn, and spend some time at a nursing home.

For once I splurged (eh-hem ebay, cough, wheeze) and got a big gift for another club founder (and wife's uncle) who shall remain nameless. I kinda forgot that there is such a thing as shipping costs (esp when the item in question weighs slightly less than a Volkswagen). So the wife is not pleased. Gonna have to go big for her this year. Like a weekend n Maui. That MIGHT satisfy her for a LITTLE while.
:P

New Years, I'll be at Bevier somewhere between 12:01 and 1:00am, acing the first hole.

HAPPY HOLIDAZE!

She has no imagination! DG baskets make great living room accesories (sp?). We had the portable one as a coat hanger/bag holder for a while. It was a much talked about addition to the room. We've always wanted a mini disc catcher.... [/font]:unsure:

Hoping for a Discatcher, some Speed Demons (if the parents can figure out what they are) and hopefully a new bag.

Can't wait to setup the Discatcher in my open field and work on my short game

got lots of socks, nothing else really from my wishlist.... the wife did give me a 18v cordless drill, however. That should come in useful.

Got a new bag from my sister which is awesome.  My current bag has holes in both the front and back pockets, hence how I lost my wallet at Sandy Point.  Outside of that, I got plenty of warm clothes and such.

I got an Innova Diamond Deluxe Bag.  Fits less discs than my current bag, but I really don't use all the ones I carry anyway.

Depends on what you want to do. What is the right camera for me for disc golf may not be right for you. I use a Canon Powershot G5. My latest work for Disc Golf World News turned out very well...you can see for yourself in the next issue!

Canon has other cameras in the Powershot line that I think are very good. What do you want to be able to do? What's your budget?

WEll I didn't plan on getting anything DG related but my wife and I went to FL to spend Christmas with her parents and I took her dad and brother out to one of the courses in the area (Poorly designed course no signs anywhere, had to double back on yourself on a number of holes, etc.)  and while I lost a DX whippet, I found a CE Valkyrie with no scratches or chunks or anything!  It has some sort of dye on it that looks like two hands crossing and the words LETS GO written on the rim a bunch of times and I didn't realize it until we got home but there is a guys name on it written really lightly in like pink marker but no phone number.  It feels really lite (Possibly 150 range) and it's clear, so Merry Christmas to me!

Oh yeah they loved it!  I left my Father in law with a Gazelle, MRV and a SE WiscDiscolf Tiki God of Fire Aviar.  There are like 4 courses in the area so he's gonna play the rest of them before I head down there again.  My brother in law said the immortal phrase "I can see where this could get addictive"  :-) I remember saying that once a long time ago....
