Just an FYI that we are monitoring the flooding situation out a Channahon. I know that at the moment the entire park is closed. As soon as I get more information I will let everyone know. Since we are still 2 weeks away from the event we should be ok, but I will be watching this closely and announcing any changes as soon as I possibly can!
Yoda, Vader, Cubs, White Sox, Bears, Jerry Garcia, Tigger, Stevie Ray -- if I had some custom dye orders I could afford to drive out for this. ;)
I'm dying the overall points discs as we speak. I'm not liking how bleedy some are so I might do some extras and let Scott and Mike have first pick.
This is the latest information that I have from the park district. We'll probably know by Monday what will happen. I'm currently investigating potential alternate locations where we might be able to move the tournament to should we be told that we can't go forward.
"A crew of people will be at the park Saturday morning to continue with the cleanup. Lots of standing water with large carp and catfish swimming around and the parks dept have seen numerous snakes!
Until the park officially opens back up, I won't be able to tell you if the tournament can be played. The parks dept are hoping to get back to the course today or tomorrow."
What are the chances we are playing the weekend if it is unplayable we going to a different course if so is it gonna be the same weekend or different
That's not really any room in the schedule to move weekends. There was a crew from Jtown out today cleaning up at Channy. One basket is still under water, but we have a week still for things to get better.

I will be out there on Thursday to assess if I have to close off any holes (guessing 6 is what's underwater?) or set up an alternate basket location.
Alright, not sure what the hell I'm doin wrong, but when I try to pre register, it doesnt give me any options to move forward or check out. It lets me put in my name, division and pdga #, which I also just renewed but isnt updated yet. After that theres nothing on there to pay for it. Thoughts? Thanks!
After you put in name, div, and pdga #. Clicking AddToCart should put it in your shopping cart. You should see the shopping cart in the upper right corner of the screen and can check out from there. If you still have trouble, please send a pm to stpitner.
It looks like google checkout is not working correctly in the Firefox browser. Try IE or Safari.
I'm on Firefox 11 from where I'm checking right now (current version is Firefox 20 heh), and it works fine. I'll update to the latest Firefox later and see if there's an issue.
For IE if you are using the latest version, you might have an issue where you can't see the buttons to register. To fix this, turn on compatibility mode. There's an icon of a broken piece of paper next to a magnifying glass at the top of the page that you need to click. That will get the stuff to load.
Musich - are you trying to register from a computer or from a phone? I'm seeing reports on the Google checkout pages that they sometimes see some issues with the mobile version of this cart.

However, anybody having trouble can always send me a PM, and I can always send you an invoice directly if you continue to have problems on the website.
I found a newer version of the Google Checkout cart and upgraded. IE works even when I don't have compatibility mode turned on, so a LOT of the issues should be resolved. Let me know if you continued to experience any problems!
Sorry if I scanned and didn't see this, but is the plan to just do rounds of 18 per day or will there be additional holes in the normal areas off of hole 18?
The plan is to do the three additional holes after 18 as we have done in the past. Depending on the flooding status of hole 6. We may change that hole slightly.
Jon Cleaveland had e-mailed me and said- . #6 still surrounded by water throw past it in more water. Over shot 11 to the left towards 6 in water. Otherwise the course looks great. In spots u can c how high the water came up.
Is the intermediate on sunday an mistake?
Yes. He's playing advanced.

COURSE NOTES: I was out there playing the course today. It's in great shape! One major change: Because the hill around 4 is roped off and the basket bagged, there is an alternate pin location. We will play LONG TEE BOTH ROUNDS for hole 4! Hole 6 is no longer under water, but the area around the basket is still a very soupy mud. We will probably use an alternate location for 6's basket and play from the long tees both rounds. I left a flag indicating the approximate location for the replacement basket.
I left flag markers out to mark the temp baskets, but I received a report that they got mowed over :-/ Maybe there is still something out there to help people identify where to find the tees and baskets at! Otherwise we'll get it fixed up Saturday morning.
and yes, Taylor, there will be 3 additional holes added after 18.

Are ya sure Frank isn't just getting it ready for this weekend? RE- Hole 4
I talked to Frank on the phone about it - he said long tee to short pin. But I will confirm for sure.
I re-confirmed with Frank - hole 4's regular basket will be closed for another 2 months or so. We will be playing from the Long tee on hole 4 to a basket that is in the short pin position.
Peoria has been getting rain for about 4 hours straight, and calling for it until Sunday? you guys getting rain too??
we haven't had a lot - but we have definitely had some. I just finished checking the forecast for the weekend. The forecast actually just greatly improved - still calling for a light amount of rain during 1 hour of the day, but now highs of 68 Saturday and 70 on Sunday. It's going to be a beautiful weekend for disc golf!

And if you have an extra basket, I would bring it for hole 4. I would not really call the current temp one acceptable for a tournament.

Dana - No room in the van for another basket to yank out 4's replacement. Not a big fan of the bucket on it either, but I've played worse. Thanks for the recommendation.
Course Map. Note marsh area to the right of 19 is OB, not a high chance anyone will get into that. Hole 4 and 6 play from Long tee both rounds. Hole 1 water OB after the 2nd foot bridge. Water on near side of it is casual. Pond is OB on 2 as well as creek water (bridge is in bounds). There's a small pool of water behind 15 that is OB, and there is water to the left on 16 (tough to get to) that is also OB. Hole 20 and 21, path and over to right is OB once past the tee.
Scores were posted for today before the payouts even began! Thanks all to those that came out. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. I look forward to tomorrow being even nicer!

hole six is playable now. Are you going to play the regular hole or the temp hole
hole 6 will remain the temp hole - it's better for consistency between days and it's also called out on the scorecard so don't want to add additional confusion.
Thanks to Scott and Mike for the player signature disc and thanks to everyone that signed over the last 6 or 8 months! I enjoyed helping out on Sunday without having to be responsible for anything. It made me feel calmer and I enjoyed the moment better.

Thanks for coming out to the Dave Pitner Memorial. I hope you had a lot of fun. We had beautiful weather both days. 44 people came out on Saturday, 63 on Sunday. Hopefully you have already noticed scores are posted. First round scores were posted within 10 minutes of all cards coming in, and 2nd round scores were posted before the awards ceremony begun both days.

Congratulations to Mike Musich for his Ace on Hole #3 Round 1 and Roman Korol for his Ace on Hole #8 Round 2. Each of them took home $240.
I forgot to talk about this Sunday. We are announcing for the IOS 2013 Series the Frequent Flyer Program! This is an incentive program to continue to come out and support IOS events. After you have played your 4th event in 2013 (and if you play both days at a single event you qualify for 2 plays), you will receive a custom bag tag exclusive for those IOS players. Additionally, for each event you play after your 4th, AM's will receive a $20 player pack instead of $15. For the Pro's - we are still looking for ideas on what additional incentive we can offer you in addition to the bag tag. Feel free to send me ideas and suggestions.
Huge thanks to the guys that helped tear down the baskets, cones, and flags from the temp holes. Even more props to the guys that found the 3 wingnuts that disappeared on the course from Saturday to Sunday lol. You have eagle eyes! Thanks to Mike Krupicka, Michael Oliver, Dag Grada, and Dan Pastore for your help either unloading or loading the van this weekend. My body still doesn't want to unload everything from the van now that the event is over, lol.
Please make sure you make yourself aware of the new 888 rule from the PDGA. This is similar to a DNF 999, but in the case of an 888 it's to help prevent people from tanking a round or bailing early. Both days we had a problem where a player DNF'd but did not inform the TD. In both instances it was a 3-some on the card. By PDGA rule every card is to have a minimum of 3 players. If we had known in advance, we could have redistributed some of the players to appropriate cards. We are not going to report anyone as 888 from this weekend, although we may feel that we need to at future IOS events. You can read more about the 888 rule here:

Finally, I need to ask for volunteers. We need more trustworthy eyes that can keep an eye on the merch. I bring a boat load of selection so that you can have a better choice of your player packs and prizes. We had an incident over the weekend, and I want people to know that theft will NOT be tolerated. If you are available on a non-playing day, assistance is greatly appreciate as well. Please continue to leave your bags and all discs outside of the merch area (just keep them safe in your locked car), and please continue to report any suspicious behavior, thank you!
