Title: Weather
Post by: Tom McManus on February 08, 2013, 05:18:00 AM
I think we got around 9 inches of heavy snow in Gurnee.  How about the rest of the areas?  Was there as much south?  How much down at Chanahon?

We got maybe an inch at most down here in Naperville. Mostly rain which froze up. I think it is going to be great weather for the Ice Bowl. Lost disc levels will be minimal.

We got a dusting at the most.  Frank's planning on clearing the tee pads today.

We got about 5 or 6 inches in Wheeling. We got about an inch of slush in Aurora (route 59). In my travels I found that the dividing line between a good amount of accumulation and a little snow is I-90. North of I-90 got snow and south of I-90 got a wintery mix. But since I-90 runs on an angle through much of the Chicago area this probably is only generally true. But I know coming home last night going north on 355 to 53 at 7pm this was where the dividing line was.

Anywhere else in decent condition?  I'm off Wednesday and itching to play.  I have a feeling Fairfield and the northern courses are all gonna be mud pits, supposed to be above freezing that day and part of Tuesday.

There's still a good snow cover in most places. Probably 3-4 inches, but rapidly melting.

Shut up Dave....  It was bad.  How come your Name does not have "Member" by it yet?  Did you contact Mirth? I think that is how you do it

All courses with no tees will be unplayable.  Fairfield won't be playable until late April early may unless we get a super heat wave.  Only course that might be playable is glake and silver lake
