do we have a new logo ?
nope
no entries, no real need for this right now
maybe a better thought-out contest later in the year for 2005
Hmm I wonder if I have that image I did forever ago still around....
I was browsing through the discussion board and came across this topic. I know the contest and stuff is over, but I was just playing around at work and put together a quick "logo." I'm not sure how to post the logo.
If anyone can tell me how to post the actual image I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
You should be able to attach it to a reply. If the attach box isn't there let me know....
I don't see an attach button...where would it be?
It should be there now.... It'll be in the main compose/edit screen, below the emoticons.
Here is the logo that I put together. Thanks Mirth for the help.
God Damn that's a sweet logo!! Pretty pimpin!!
Nice! I like that.
We should make sure that we have a good black and white (aka camera-ready art) version that we can use for black and white flyers, traditional disc stamps, etc.
I don't particularly care for the font used for Disc Golf Club..., but that's a personal opinion.
add little baskets showing the other illinois courses
down state ish
theres room
I think I agree with the font concern. That's something that can be done pretty easily. The whole thing was just something I did pretty quick while sitting around doing nothing at work. I'll play around with some other choices.
Creating a black & white piece wouldn't be too difficult either. The whole thing can be transferred into line art.
Spuds: I thought I would use the basket posted in the northeastern part of the state because it's a "northeastern" disc golf club.
Thanks for the comments. Is there anything that the club/members would like to see in a logo?

Line art. That was the term I had on the tip of my tongue.
I do like it. It helps to emphasize that we are associated with Illinois. It could be a little more stylized...not that I'm saying how. But its a little obvious, I like more obtuse. But my art teachers have always told me I'm an impressionist.
chicks with beer
Here are a couple others that I played around making:
This one is the same as the first, only with the state of Illinois being cut by the flying disc:
very smooth, serg!
Those are cool!!

don't know if i can still submit... but just something i decided to throw together
if you need a complete visual... :)

Actually I like our web graphic. This thread started because some of us thought we might want a logo that lends itself to print and stamp media well.
Oh.. well...
I didn't want you guys to use my logo anyways :P
I really like that logo Diron!!
Actually, it was started for submissions for a new graphic for the site.
The club's name is Discontinuum & not Disc Continuum
Very nice Diron. I like the logo alot.

I thought all of this started from this post. (http://discontinuum.org/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=897&view=findpost&p=9889) But I may have interpreted it wrong.
First off, I'm really happy to see the enthusiasm for the club's logo happening! When I started this contest, it was done quickly and without much thought (gee, really?!).
I really like some of the designs that were submitted online here. I think the BOD should get a real contest going. Although changing logos every year probably isn't a good idea (consistency is important), the current logo has been used for 4 years or so. Let's keep the blood fresh, so to speak, and use one of the new ones!
If I remember correctly, Jim started this thread in response to my reply to his post where he said the current logo has received many compliments over the years.
My 'apparently so' comment was directly related to the start of this thread.
Nice job, Serg! :D
Brett said he wanted to see green:
Keep in mind, this is scaled down and compressed for size purposes. The full size version looks awesome if I may say so.
I like the green!!
