Please bring your tools out & help, meet at the shelter or if you're late by the bridge site.
Along these notes I have a skil saw that I can bring as well as the cordless drill I got for christmas....
I will bring two hammers, nails, wood screws, cordless drill, rakes, spade, and possibly wood.
Mirth, did you measure the distance across? Do you have wood? Need it?
Shall we copy the design on B or make something different? Handrails? Incorporate concrete blocks?
Please give thoughts.; I am hoping to talk to the WPD about any requirements or specifics today or tomorrow.
No need for hammers and nails, for if we build anything that day it will be using screws.
I still do not know what the span is, I haven't been out to the park since the last Sunday of December. Hoping to get out there tomorrow or Friday to get the span measured so I can get a real idea of the costs.... Thinking of two or possibly three 4x4's for the main timbers and then some plywood similar to what's on the hole B bridge for the walking surface.
I think one thing we should do is pick up some long (like 2') stakes and use them to help secure the bridge to the banks for the next time the stream floods.
What kind of lumber might you posssibly have, Jim?
Did you talk to WPD?

Mirth,
If you head out there can you check for a red Aviar. I either left by C's basket, or dropped it on the walk from C's basket across the soccer field back to the lot. It could also be sitting by the tennis court at the CTP throw off area. If not, no big deal.
Might not make it out after all.... found out today that we're having our living room recarpeted tomorrow. Lots of stuff to get moved out of the living room now... Lots of heavy stuff, too. Measuring will probalby have to wait until Sunday.
My lumber is small, but I make weekly pilgrimages to Home Depot.
Picking up stuff is not a problem. I can use a friend's van-truck for larger loads.
Once we get the span measured I can get some definite plans drawn up and start to obtain lumber and pre-cut some stuff.
This has been postponed probably until we get a nice melt in the snow.
Probably march-sometime.
So, will the work day be this Saturday at 10am?
It should, the ground's definately ready for the bridge. Unfortunately, I doubt we'd get more than one or two people on Saturday & I doubt I'd be one of them.
Also, we need to procure building materials. Weren't you going to talk to Trigg to see if WPD can help us in that department? I can get you a materials list for the plan I came up with if that'd help.
Cool. Email me the list and I'll call Trigg in the morning.
If you're not going to make it, should we reschedule?
I think so, unfortunately.
Can we reschedule for March 13th?
If yes, can you please update calendar?
Thanks.
How'd that fish turn out. Looked like you were grilling shamu......
