Bevier Park Work Day
Sunday April 7th
9AM
Keep an eye of the weather and message board. If it's raining we'll push it back to Sunday April 14th.
The main project for this first work day will be to build 6 tees and move them to their permanent positions. Please bring drills. We'll need a good saw too.
Another side project will be to add the number plates to the baskets that do not have them.
Looking forward to this.
Hey Brett/Tom,
I really want to help out on this work day but i have a Memorial mass for my best friend late that morning and brunch with his family to follow. I will try to make it out there by 1pm.
Really great to see things happening! Kudos to you guys for getting it done!
Do what you have to do. There will be another day we need some help as well.
For anyone that's able to make it blease bring a drill and charger.
I have a drill that I can bring, but its a piece of crap and needs to be charged every 10min (I have 2 batteries so 20min).
Is it going to be used for screws or drilling holes? Also do we need a hand saw or electric?
We should be good on a saw. Tom M is bringing one.
Mostly for driling screws. There is power out there. We might need one to drill some pilot holes. If you have a plug in drill that would be awesome.
Ok, i'll gather everything I can. I will be there at 8:45, but need to leave about 12:30.

Sounds great. I just got to thinking and it might be wise to have a backup saw there. We need to cut some plywood and 2X6's.
I'm headed to Home Depot in Waukegan. They open at 8am. I have to pickup the supplies and rent the truck. I should be there before 9.
The goal is definitely to be done by noon.
We should cut the 2X6's first. We can frame those and get ready for the plywood top.
The plywood is going to take the longest to cut. We'll need to cut one of those into 2 foot lengths. We'll need 2 more of those.
After that is done we'll screw the rubber to the playwood.
Hopefully we'll have enough people for another crew to put the number plates on a few baskets and mix up concrete for 3 anchors.
I am a new member as of last week but I would like to help out in any way that I can. I have a battery power drill with two batteries and a corded circular saw. I have several other miscellaneous tools that may be useful so if anything else is needed please feel free to let me know and I will see if I have it.
Awesome! The drill and saw are perfect. See you Sunday. Look forward to meeting you.
I look forward to meeting all of you as well. See you Sunday!
The weather looks decent for tomorrow & the work day is on. We'll be working under the pavillion near the building.
Thanks to all that came out for the work day. The pads are awesome. Once the park district installs them the course will be much more enjoyable.
Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday. We built 8 new teepads. It was a team effort.
Saturday April 13th.
8AM
As long as the weather is decent Tom & I are going to head out to Bevier to take care of a few small jobs.
1. Put number plates on the baskets that do not have them.
2. Concrete 3 anchors into buckets.
3. If we get a few other people some garbage pick up.
*We are going to work no more than 2 hours.*
If you are interested in joining us let me know.
I have a pretty tight schedule this weekend but I will do my best to make it out for at least 1 1/2 hours on Saturday!
Count me in! See you at 8am with garbage bags in hand.
See you guys out there in the morning.
Another great work day. Number plates on installed. Ancors for the new pins are complete. Getting closer to the completed expansion.
