Summer is in full swing. We hope you are enjoying the warm weather and
your discs are flying far and straight. It's been a busy year for
DISContinuum and the summer is starting to heat up for the club as well.

We currently have 59 club members which sets a new record for the club.
Thank you for the support! Over the past year the club has purchased a
score port and parts to complete two portable baskets. If you are not a
club member we hope you consider joining and supporting the club. Some
benefits include; 2005 Bag Tag, special pricing on the club's
merchandise inventory, discounts from vendors, free PDGA Officials test, &
access to the members' only area of the message board.

We have also added a new club member's only event this year which will
be held on 08-19-05. It is a PDGA sanctioned event which is free to all
club members that are PDGA members. NonPDGA members will have to pay
$5.00. There will be putting & driving distance champions. You can read
more about it here if you are a club member.

The first ace pool is at $150.00 and the 2nd is $18.00. Our league is
very organized and points are tracked for end of league prizes. Congrats
to Nick F. for winning 2005 Spring League!

The Illinois Open Series has seen quite a few players already this
year. 101 players at IOS #1 & 140 players at IOS #2. The ace pool has not
been hit any day of the first two events and will roll into IOS #3 at
$448.00. Come on out to Crystal Lake this weekend! Check out
www.brasscash.com for more details.

IOS #6--DISContinuum Blast will be a trophy only event for Ams on
09-17-05. The entry fee will be $10.00 for all Am Divisions. Players will
compete for trophies & ctp's. This concept means nothing for pros and
they will compete for a normal entry fee & cash payout. The field will be
limited and we encourage preregistration.

Allan Short will again be running the GDSTour 5th Annual Widdershins
Open again this year. This event was a huge success last year with some
cool player packs. The event will take place on 10-29-05. More details
will be posted on the website a few months prior to the event.

Jon Brakel is hosting the 2005 Chicago Disc Golf Championship at
Edgebrook Golf Course in Chicago, Illinois. The winner will get the Illinois
State Coordinator exemption to the USDGC. This will take place on July
24th. You must be an Illinois resident. Check this thread for details.

We are saddened to hear that 4 baskets have been stolen from Twin Lakes
Park in Wildwood, IL. Here is an e-mail from the Wildwood Park
District. Please pass the word.

Brett,
Hope all is well with you and the club. Just wanted to share some sad
news
regarding the Wildwood course. Between the 15th and 16th of June we
have had (4) more baskets stolen. With the one last fall that's 5 of 9
gone. I suspect
that unless they are recovered, we will scrap the course. We have filed
a police
report, removed the remaining baskets, and obviously closed the course.
We
will discuss options at our Tuesday Board meeting. Personally, I've had
about
enough. If you would be kind enough to "spread the word", we would
greatly
appreciate it.

Thanks again for all your past help.

We hope you enjoy the summer and get to play the great game of disc
golf every day.

Please forward this e-mail to anyone interested in disc golf.
Contact us if you would like to be removed from this e-mail list.
