Dear Fellow Disc Golfers,

Winter is near but things haven't started to cool off yet.

DISContinuum Disc Golf Club would like to invite you to the 5th Annual Widdershins Open on October 29th at Bevier Park in Waukegan, IL. This is the final event of the year. This will be your last chance to redeem brass cash if you have any leftover from the IOS. There is a flier attached to this thread->

The club is going to be ordering bag tags again this year. All 2006 club members will get a bag tag with their membership. We are having a design contest this year. The winner gets a free 2006 membership. Designs are due by 10/31/05. Currently there has been only one design submitted. We are hoping for a contested race. Club members will be voting in November for a winning design. Check this link for more details->

Club elections will be held in December. Anyone interested in running for a position please e-mail or post on the message board. We are looking for some new energetic disc golfers that are looking to get involved with club operations. We also need volunteers to run best-shot league and take photos at events.

This has been a huge year for disc golf in this area. Courses are jam packed, well-attended leagues every night, and attendance at all events grew. 2006 is going to be an exciting year! Some 2005 club highlights were new bag tags, IOS #1 @ Parkside, DISContinuum Invitational, IOS #6 DISContinuum Blast, IOS #7 @ Fairfield, 5th Annual Widdershins Open, 40 weeks of best shot doubles, and chain upgrades at Fairfield Park. The club has also submitted a formal proposal to the Lake County Forest Preserve to install a course. Let's keep our fingers crossed! As we continue to grow DISContinuum has reached record #'s in 2005. We hope you renew or consider joining if you have not. Without your support this club would not exist and many projects would not get done. Our goal is 75+ members in 2006.

For all amateur players 2006 will be your chance to qualify for 2007 Am Worlds in Milwaukee. You qualify by earning points at PDGA events. Worlds is an incredible experience and it is a must play. Terry Miller is a great promoter of disc golf and will do a tremendous job. We highly encourage you to join the PDGA in 2006 and play this event.

Last, We will be taking PDGA memberships over the next few months as part of the PDGA Affiliate Program. You save $5.00 by joining or renewing thru the club.

We hope you had great year of disc golf and look forward to seeing you on the course.

Happy Discing!
