Dear Brett,

Hello disc golfers. Warm weather is slowly approaching. We hope you
haven't become too depressed while planning your 2006 disc golf schedule
while snow and cold are still here. You'll be playing in a t-shirt and
shorts before you know it. DISContinuum has some new and exciting things
to announce in this newsletter. We ask you to forward this message to
any of your disc golf buddies. If they could reply to this message, that
would be great. We'd like to add them to the DISContinuum database. We
have worked hard over the past few years of developing a database of
disc golfers. This e-mail is going out to over 150 disc golfers in
Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, & Michigan. We want to bring the disc
golf community together. We keep all information private and hope to build
up a hub for midwest disc golf action.

I would like to give a big thanks to Allan Short the Treasurer and
Webmaster of DISContinuum. He has just completed the DISContinuum Online
Store. Its main purpose is for taking online registrations and processing
online club memberships. There are also discs for sale. Check it out->
http://store.discontinuum.org/  He added a link to Marshall Street in
which 5% of each sale are donated back to the club. With the initial
purchase the club received 5 copies of the Marshall Street DVD which will
be used for CTP's at club events over the year. If you haven't seen the
04 & 05 DVD's you are missing out. They both have some of the best disc
golf footage that i've seen.

The 2006 Illinois Open Series schedule has been released. The first
event is on April 22/23 at UW Parkside in Kenosha, WI. The official site
is www.brasscash.com  You can discuss any issues on this thread->
http://discontinuum.org/forums/index.php/topic,2107.0.html . There is a
ton of information on the first post. We are very excited for the 2006
series. We averaged 137 players per event last year and expect an
increase in 2006. UW Parkside is one of the best courses of the 7 venues. A
fun course in Aurora, IL was added to the series as well. We hope to
see you at many of the events. All Advanced/Pro divisions play on
Saturday and Int/Rec/Jr play on Sunday at every event in 2006. All 7 events
are PDGA sanctioned. Amateurs, make sure to get your points to qualify
for Am Worlds in the summer of 2007.  It's a must play event in
Milwaukee, WI. Terry Miller is the TD and DISContinuum Club member. Another club
member, "Dr Dye" Joe Burnett is going to be the Overall Trophy Disc
Sponsor of the 2006 IOS. He will dye all the overall trophy discs. Check
out www.drdyed.com for his fantastic work!

We are currently working on 2 course projects. We are still waiting to
see when our proposal is going get on an agenda at the Lake County
Forest Preserve. We turned it in July of 2005. The Lake County Forest
Preserve is saying it should be on the February or March agenda. It has been
researched and discussed by the forest preserve. It would be a 27 hole
championship course with all the goods. We are striving to get one of
the best courses in the state installed. We also had a meeting with the
Waukegan Park District about expanding Bevier Park from 12 holes to 18
holes. If this happens there would be 6 holes added across the street
on the west side of the park. We are still awaiting to hear back from
WPD. We'll keep you posted on the message board once we get any new
information.

Our weekly best shot has averaged 20 players at Winter League. We play
every Sunday morning at Bevier Park in Waukegan, IL. We get started at
approximately 10:00am. We took a week off so our players could go play
the Big Chill in Milwaukee. Congrats to all of those who played! There
were 16 current 2006 members that played the Big Chill.

Our next club meeting is on February 19th around 1:30pm. Anyone is
welcome. It will be at Buffalo Wild Wings in Round Lake, IL. It is located
just west of 83. Check BWW's website for the store location.
http://www.buffalowildwings.com/locations/index.asp  . We would love to
see new faces. Currently the club has 53  2006 current members. That is
by far the most we've had at this time of year. We hope to see many new
faces as well as the regulars in 2006. Without your support this club
would not exist. Just a reminder, on the 1st of March your access to the
club members only section of the message board will be restricted if
you have not renewed for 2006.

DISContinuum is currently looking for an assistant webmaster to do
minor updates to the website. We are always looking for more volunteers.
Any help at any level is much appreciated. We are also looking for
volunteers to take pictures of courses and events. Contact Brett if you are
interested. president@discontinuum.org
