I just wanted to get some opinions about this. I don't want Jim to have the burden of putting all his cash up front to organize all these events. I know it's probably stressful wondering if you'll get the cash back. I'm going to donate $10.00 to the club in order to cover summer/bevier blast expenses. I figured if every club member donated $10.00, that would be over $200.00 that could be used to cover expenses. I know I saw every dime & more of my membership. I feel i'll see every dime of this donation. What do you guys think?

I'll let you guys decide if you want to do that, but I didn't really eat any money this time. I donated a little more than $50 in food, etc., Al put up some cash last month ($200 to be paid back before the end of the year) to cover the money we were losing on DISContinuum Dollars, and Brett, Mirth, Bill, Shawn, and others all either generously donated through the food jar or returned part of their winnings to the club. I think donations are great, but I also do not expect members to be continually emptying their pockets.

I still say sponsorship is the way to go. Disc Golf World is great, but their help is fairly limited to discounts on merchandise. A food sponsor can be good, too. But what we need is a sponsor who is really interested in growing the club. I have been trying to find the right person to speak with at the FOP, and am close to nailing it down. The YMCA may also be a good route.

I really appreciate all the generosity of the members, but we need to move from self-sustaining to getting some outside help. We'll just burn ourselves out if we don't. :-)
