Bruce,
Were you able to work out the Chainstars or will skillshots be used?

I have had phone calls from all over the state.  This tournament has more buzz than anything I've ever done in Michigan.  Players have called from Lansing, Ann Arbor, Midland, Grand Rapids and all over the Detroit collar counties.  And, the weather report perked up a little today.  It snowed fiercely today and they said that is the last of it for at least three days.

Kelsey and I are going to camp at the course since I did not get any players wanting to stay at the house.  We'll be waking up 100 feet from hole 1!

We do have the Chainstars.  We are having a Chainstar assembly party tomorrow.  Then we'll take them out and bring in the lightweights.

*sniff*, wish I could make it!  I was going to, but now it looks like that I won't be able to (finances, time, etc etc) have a fun time Bruce!

How's this for totally sucking:  I left my leaderboard cards and scorecards uncut in my office last night in a box so I could take them to Kinkos today.  The moron janitor thought it was trash and tossed the whole box.

That was two hours of work and $15 of office supplies.  Sheesh.

I cut morons some slack because having lost ten or twenty i.q. points to fever related brain damage, I can imagine life must be pretty difficult for certifiable two-digit i.q. types.

Because of that, Kelsey and I got to the course at 10:00 p.m. instead of 8:00 like I was hoping for.  I wanted to do a little maintenance on one hole, but we just had to play it as is.  By 10:00 the frost was on, so I could not go out and cut the weeds.  Kelsey slept like the cold air had forced her into hibernation.  I was plenty warm in my bag but I woke up every hour.  I needed to get up about 6:00 to finish organizing the merch.

No one complained, about the tall weeds on the one hole, or anything else.  We had 111 giddy disc golfers zipping around in carts playing this really fun course.  The course management was giddy too.  They were collecting $10 per player.  Do the math.

Critter Bill Them and Bob Smart shot a new course record for doubles, -9 or 63, playing Open.  They did not get it done in the Final Nine and the team of Bauman and Toy took first in Open and First overall.  The Super Pros all took a bye week.  The subtracted cash kept them away.

A Pro-Am team won in under <1910, the Hunt brothers.  DJ is 971 rated but RC was playing his 3rd tournament.  I never knew there was another Hunt.  I've played a lot of tournaments with their dad, who is also pretty good.  Forming a lopsided pro-am team was no guarantee for success however.  The other pro-am team finished tied for 5th-7th of 23 teams.

The intermediates and Recs did a great job of sorting themselves out.  The winner in Rec was five throws and five slots back from the winner in Intermediate.  That's always nice to see.

We barely got done before dark.

I'm so glad it was not sanctioned.  I'm never sanctioning anything there again.  Instead, I'm asking for a cut on beer sales!

I can't wait to see how that other tournament did.  For some reason I get excessive pleasure from crushing the competition.   ;D
