Today was a lot of fun!  There were a total of 9 people there (cuz all you bums from Discontinuum didn't show up lol, that's ok, though!) I did my best to represent DISContinuum well, and I wound up with a 1 stroke victory, woohoo!  It was my first tournament win ever, so you know I have to be happy about that ;)

The courses wound up to be changed up a little bit to accomodate the Palatine situation.  We played 1,2,6-9 and then 1,2,6 again at Clark Park, then went to Buffalo Grove.  After Buffalo Grove we drove to Highland Park to play at Fink.  We had lunch and then went and played Adler.  After Adler we traveled over to Mundelein to play at Leo Leathers.  it was a tossup between Mundelein and Grayslake, but everyone decided to just go to Mundelein.  There was a tie for the lead spot going into the last course (and it remained tied all the way to hole 8 of 9, so that made things pretty exciting!)

Just about anybody else from here could have shown up and kicked my butt, but I did win with an overall +9 on the day.  There was a 2-way tie for second between E-Roc and Mark at +10 overall.

It was a lot of fun, and I hope to hook up with you guys a great deal in the future!

VERY well organized tournament.  The only suggestion I would maybe consider is that if you do another traveling tournament similar to this and have a bigger field, printed maps from one course to the next would be very helpful!  Well done :)

Very very cool that #8 and #9 at Mundelein were the finishing holes.
Personally this was a tourney I considered, But work and some other items deserve more consideration.
Im positive that it was a fantastic way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Congrats to the low scorer.

It's not an attempt to be different when everyone else is becoming more alike; it's a way of copping out. And that's the worst thing you can do."

Scott,
It was good to meet you and play the round at Buffalo Grove.  While I was in the top three (aka coming third) after Clark Park, I dropped quickly from there, and bailed before Mundelein, so I am pretty sure it wasn't me coming equal second.  Those honors deservedly go to Matt I am guessing.

Congrats on the win, on top of getting the prize for the name of the event.

d'oh, thanks for the correction Mark.  Yes, it was indeed Matt that tied for second honors.  It was hard to learn everyone's names considering there were all of these J names - Jim, John, Jackie (hopefully spelled right), and then Mark and Matt.

Yeah, two prizes for an event makes for a pretty great day!

A pleasure to meet you, Mark :)

Nice job Scott!

Now, to settle a bet, what time did you guys finish?  I never thought you would get five courses in before dark.

I thought they'd have daylight issues to, but the attendance issues compensated for it.

We were done by 3:30, but even if there was 20 people we would have finished no question by 4.  None of the slow-pokes showed up ;)

I could care less that there were attendance "issues" since I took home the victory lol :)

Not only did we finish by 3:30, but the 8 of us that made it to the 5th course played another round of RIPT Best Shot doubles.  That finished at 4:45, and I was about ready to break out the LED's to finish the last hole lol.

Thanks to All of you that came out for the "9-Hole Turkey Bowl".  The weather held up that day, as we travelled to the 5 different courses.  Congrats! to Scott Pitner from the Discontinuum Club for being this year's "2006 Turking".  It came down to the last 2 holes of the day (8 & 9 at Mundelein), as E-Roc and Scott were tied on the Leader Card.  In the end, Scott pulled away with the 1-stroke victory over E-Roc, as Matt "Mutt" Stachura came back and tied for 2nd (with E-Roc).

I am looking forward to next year's "Pilgrimage", which will most likely be the 1st/2nd weekend in November.
