So, I'm just trying to get the consensus of what everyone thinks about the Tour. Will you play in more tournaments? Have you wanted something like this for a while? Or just a gimmick?
I need to be consistent....

The poll is pretty silly, but I am excited about the tour. It's a good incentive to play in certain events because at the end of the season you can call yourself the "Illinois State Tour Winner" or something along those lines. So yea the bragging rights are good, but it's also a cool resume builder, per se. I always like to have a goal, whether it be to finish well in a certain tourney or a longer range goal of placing well in a series or something along those lines.

To me the Tour is a great thing, like the IOS. I've only been a PDGA member since fall of '05, but I'd have to say the IOS series last year captured the same kind of idea, it just didn't also include events outside of the IOS last year. Which was: play events all over & have an overall Champ at the end of the year. The word "Tour" is easily recognizable from the PGA Tour, & something that non-disc golfers & potential sponsors will grasp the idea of right away. To me it's a step in the right direction in establishing that there IS a group of people who regularly play these events all over.

As far as playing more tournaments, I always want to do that, regardless. (of the name or my game, lol)
If it encourages the player base in Chicagoland to travel more to play, good! The bigger the field, the better the payout, the more PDGA points, the more FUN!

P.S. Brett, thanks for this & everthing else you're doing for disc golf, both as Discontinuum Pres. & the IL PDGA Coordinator. Keep up the good work!
