Meeting minutes for 12/18/05 Club Meeting

In attendance:

Brett C., Jon B., Maddisen B., Dan M., Allan S., Tom M., Bryan S., Nick S., Dave B., Carrie (non-club member and disc golf hater)

1. Finances are about the same as before with the club in good standing.  $1025 in the bank account.  Taxes for 2005 due by end of March.  Payed $10 annual fee for the website domain.

2.  Bag Tags

Club members who were in attendance at leagues or the meeting drew numbers for the 2006 tags which were then passed out.  We have 36 members payed for 2006 currently.

3.  Club Elections took place for the 2006 Club Officers

2006 Officers are:

Treasurer:  Allan S.
Secretary:  Dan M.

4.  PDGA memberships

16 have payed for the PDGA memberships through the club which saves them $5.  These will be mailed in by Mirth before the end of the month.

5.  LCFP Update

Lake County Forest Preserve will meet in January to discuss the possible installation of a disc golf course.  More information to come.

6.  Leagues

By a unanimous vote we decided to do away with the rule of bumping players from lower pool to upper pool by who has the most league points.

7.  Advertising money

Tom McManus volunteered to head up an effort to find online disc companies who are interested in sponsoring Discontinuum.

8.  Event Sponsorship

The Club is looking for companies to give tournament sponsorship.  Buffalo Wild Wings was mentioned as 1 possiblility.

Buffalo Wild Wings was a fun place for the meeting.  Brett brought a game called Tumblin Dice which is an awesome game!!!!

I have a meeting with Waukegan Park District after the holidays to meet about the expansion of Bevier Park. I'm looking into ways to expand it to 18 holes.

NOw that would be awesome. Getting some holes in the soccer field and across the street over at that field near the BMX park. Yeah that would be sweet.

There is a good possibiltiy of this happening. I have a good relationship with the park district & I have some good ideas to make Bevier the best course in Lake County. Well, that's not hard considering Fairfield is the only 18 hole course in the county. There is an opportunity to get some discounted baskets and tee signs as well. I'll keep you guys posted.
