I listened to the entire interview this morning. I enjoyed a lot of what I heard.

I don't expect miracles but the score had an interesting stat. He took over a bad Montreal team. The previous year they threw for 600+ pass attempts and the QB was sacked 68 times. The next season they threw 700+ times and the QB was sacked 22 times.

Sucks for Knox but it was pretty classy of the Bears to keep him  on contract last season. He was on salary and got medical rehab for the entire year.

I agree, it was good to see the Bears help out Knox like that when they certainly were not required to do so.

It appears that he will never make it back to the NFL as a player.

For a franchise long known to be cheap, they appear to be shifting gears over the last few years with moves like this along with the big money spent on Cutler, Peppers, etc.

Knox is lucky to be able to walk. From reports though he was running at about 75% of his speed before his injury. But he was never medically cleared to do any "football" drills or training besides running. I'm glad it sounds like he'll have normal mobility and ability. I guess he announced that he won't be returning to football. But that's no surprise. I wonder if it was significant in any way to Knox's pension benefits or anything else that the Bears kept him on the PUP list instead of the IR?

I was reading on ESPN and I read that there is a rumor that TO could be playng with the bears next year.

My opinion I can see bringing his to training camp and give him a chance.  Last official stats with a full year with the Bengals in 2010

played in 14 games with 983 Receiving yards with 9 TD. Say he does make the team I dont expect him to have these kind of numbers but it will give us a nice advantage against the opponent's defense this year instead of only focusing on Marshall.

My initial thoughts of the Bears 1st round draft pick is that it was a reach. A lot of productive talent left out there. Only time will tell.

Well at least next season we won't be able to say 'why don't the Bears ever address the O line'.  The offensive line was clearly the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd priority this offseason.  Credit to Emery.  Hopefully we see some results.  I'm hoping the offense actually outperforms the defense for once next year.  With the age of some of the guys on the defensive side, I think we may need it.

Howie Long's son was a very good pick! Cutler needs to be protected to be efficient!
I just find it very funny that Mel Kiper has the Bears with the WORST draft of all teams!  ;D  I'm saying it again, Chicago teams have no clue when it comes time to drafting! Period!

I agree Cutler has to be protected.

I was surprised to hear this during the draft. The entire scouting staff under Angelo is still working for the Bears. Nothing has really changed but Angelo in terms of evaluating talent. I thought it was a bad draft and no surprise. The ESPN crew was mind boggled with the 2nd round draft pick. They had him ranked 75th to 100th+.

I always hold out until I see them play. I always hope that the Bears saw something in them that no one else did. Lance Briggs was a third rounder. Did the Bears see something great in him or just get lucky?

They were trying to trade their 1st round pick for two later picks. I think they looked at who was out there and what they needed and decided they didn't need to pay first round draft prices for what they needed. That's probably the first thing that they tell Kyle Long.
