Despite getting hit in the face with a disc and then shooting the absolute worst rounds of my life, I still had fun.  And at least I walked away with a CTP.  The good news is that I played so terribly, the rounds will probably get dropped.  Yes, they were that bad.  Not DFL, but pretty close!!!

So the women played the longer layout? I'd find that really strange. IIRC Last year the Adv Grandmasters, Int and Rec played the shorter layout.

Not in the Homie. I know Adv GM played the same layout.  URI...
(you recall incorrectly)

Then the ratings from last year's Homies are incorrect...

i kind of agree with chainmaster as i would like to be able to compare
what i shot verses Kev C  who rode down with me  as he played rec
i think we both shot plus 6  both rounds but he played from a  couple shorter tees

now me vs my brother  925 rating vs 865 rating
i figure he has to give me 6 strokes
so i think i faired well vs him

mike s
what hole did u get hit in the face and did he have the common sense to at least offer you a beer ?

i do have to say that my putting was typical for a T (not consistant)
my approaches saved me big time
driving was bad but when i relaxed i was ok but when i tried to throw i was pretty bad

ill take 3's  on the water hole all day and be happy
also the 3 on blue 18 and red 10 makes me happy

all in all  if not for 3 putting blue 14 from 25 ft and in - i would say i played pretty well for myself

only 1 five and but only 3 dueces  (1 blue and 2 red)

I'm sure the TD might make the argument that he has lower divisions play a shorter layout to speed up play.  I think most Rec players would agree with you guys though that they'd rather play the same layout as the Pros so they can compare scores.  In this case, there were only a handful of Rec tees, so I don't really see the point of it at all.

Then the ratings from last year's Homies are incorrect.  However, I think you are on to something.  Good rounds will go up and not so good rounds will go down.  The compression will be very weird.

Last year I  recall everybody playing the same course.  This year they decided to make it easier for Rec. and as far as I am concered made it FUBAR.  Otherwise, a great, great tournament.

FUBAR and "great, great tournament" seem somewhat oxymoronic.  ;D

I wish I had been there.

Two years ago they had different divisions playing different tees and it was FUBAR.  Some anonymous weasel got me stroked for playing the wrong tee.  I had played the tee announced in the player meeting.  The course and tees announcer announced it wrong because he did not know that the plan for which divisions were on which courses morning and afternoon had been changed.  It took a long time to get that straightened out.  Fortunately the course and tee announcer knew what he had said because he had written notes and he read it from his notes.

Still it was a good tournament and I came back the next year.

Sometimes what makes a tournament great and what makes it FUBAR are to different sets of factors.  Or, if the tournament is unsanctioned, it might be the same thing!   ::)

I actually got hit during warmups by one of my friends on Blue 11.  We had all thrown a few discs and I didnt realize he was playing out the hole from back near the mando.  I was up closer to the basket and he took some over-the-top spike hyzer route directly onto my right eye.  Everyone else was standing up there too, I was just in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

It does but its true. I would recommend Homie to any player.  Its a real celebration of disc golf.  However, the Rec division thing is.. well you know.  This almost happened at Mayhem last year.  At the player's meeting I mentioned to Jeff Mitchelll that there were not enough gators in Rec. and he quickly and wisely made a decision to put everybody on the same course.  I know Jeff and felt I could say something.  I really don't know Brian (though he seem slike a good guy) that well and there was a big turnout so I kept my yap shut and played.  In hindsight, I wish I would have played advanced GM and paid the extra $10.  Damon was in a threesome with John and Johnse. Kurt, you weren't there so there were only three.  I wasn't going to cash  (even though I figured that I played at about my hypothetical rating- might never know. :o anyway) so this would have been the better play. I did get to play with Kirk Romandie which is always fun.

I didnt know Matt Lovasko but after hearing stories about him for the last two years  i feel like i do.  So instead of saying what i liked and disliked about the tourney.. I want to say thankyou to matts mom, friends, and family for all that they did for this tourney.. You could tell that it was a very special day for them.  Cant wait for next year.. Thanks cya at fairfeild.... ;D

Was thinking about going but ended up staying local, will probably see everyone next weekend. My desire to play tournaments has kinda waned with the weather

Results are up.
http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=6678

I tried plugging these results into that PDGA spreadsheet to get some rough ratings, but it's apparently limited to 100 players and it's password-protected so I can't change that.

anyone remember what the password is? I tried 'pdga', 'ratings' and 'pdgaratings'. I think the password was posted when the spreadsheet was but I'm too lazy to dig around the pdga site for it.
thanks,
Damon

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??
