More importantly, will I be able to buy beer on Sunday to bring back to IL?  I have about 8 people asking me to bring back 6 packs of Two Hearted and Hop Slam from Bells since they do not distribute to us anymore in bottle form.  I'm also looking to get a case or two for myself.   I know in Indiana, nothing is open on Sundays to buy alcohol.  What is the law for Michigan?  Thanks in advance.

Alcohol is for sale 24-7 in Michigan.

It's not 24/7, but I doubt you'll be doing your shopping between 2 AM and 6 AM. On Sundays you can't buy until after 12, so there is an extra 6 hours of non-buying on Sunday morning, but it's definitely not like Indiana.

I wouldn't purchase until after Cracked Plastic on Sun. It's like living in DuPage with the no sales before noon.  Is there any good liquor stores around Coldbrook that people know of?

There's nothing nearby that course, not even a restaurant. Probably will just have to head back to Kalamazoo and quick divert off there. If you are looking for best selection of everything, hit up Bacchus at the corner of Oakland and Parkview. You get off at exit 85 and head north about a mile and it's just past the Parkview light on the left. Pretty easy on and off from 94.

Taylor is correct about the 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. limitation and sundays before noon.  I was never aware of that before.

You can get Bells in Kenosha at Woodmans, Tenutas, piggy wiggly and most stores in Racine as well.  Hop Slam is my new favorite..
Let us hope that the whores of evil no longer loiter on the doorsteps of your path beckoning you into the brothel of despair, and that here and after may present them with the most rigid manistfestation of a firm and manly will.

when i would  visit my friend in ft wayne
at swinney the baskets were spider types
at shoaf in those days the tops were the top part of the cone baskets
played ball golf/disc golf doubles at shoaf  - that was fun

thread drift

we would end up buying beer on sat for both days
but it always seemed like we drank all the beer on sat
and then up out at a place on sunday

the law is outdated

i understand that sunday is considered a day of worship
but if i go to mass on sat - there might be a chance that on sunday i just might want a beer on
one of my two days off

btw - my favorite place to worship is at west park -
basket 5
i aced the old route - once - won a pie- it was a good day

my .02 cents

Just drifting on the currents of this thread...

The no-Sunday-sales law in some states has a good purpose, but one day is as good as another.  For some drunks, that Sunday sales law is what helps them finally realize that they are an alcoholic.

Bells used to give Larry Labond a keg for every tournament.  Then they found out that that was illegal in Michigan so they started giving Larry cash sponsorship.  Which he uses to buy a keg for every tournament!   ;D  When you can end run laws that easily, it is kind of dumb to keep them on the books.

But what is really dumb is giving free beer to disc golfers at tournaments.  If someone were to get drunk on Larry's free beer, cross the center line, and kill somebody, the lawyer wouldn't just sue the disc golfer.  He'd have a good case against Larry too.
