Waukegan Park District is installing the concrete tees today and finishing the tee signs. We could use some eyes out there.

JCleaveland

When r they starting?

JCleaveland

I think what would be a great addition is one of the basket from Gillson Park as a practice basket.
Waukegan is closer to Wilmette than Round Lake basket will be closer to home.  ;D
Park looking great.

CEValkyrie

Thanks for coming out John!

We ended up donating both baskets to Round Lake for practice baskets. Waukegan didn't have much interest in the practice baskets.

Holes #13, 16, 17, 18, & 20 will be open and playable sometime Friday afternoon. Those holes should have tee posts and signs on them by that time as well.

Thanks for guarding the tees Brett! I would have helped if the PD would have given you more notice.

Yeah Brett way to be there man!  It would have been so lame to have gone through all that work to have some jags vandalize them. You da man!

Damon and I went to Bevier on Sunday. There was still orange plastic blocking access to the new tee pads. I do not recall seing posts on those holes. They were dry and we probably could have used them but decided to simply tee from right in front of them. The course looks great.  I like the basket on 19 being back across the water. I plan to register for the Bevier Blast.  I have not played a PDGA event since  May. Will there be rope ob on 20 as there has been in past years when that was a temp basket?

I just got a text from the WPD a few minutes ago. With the rain last Thursday & Friday they decided to push off opening the holes until today. They are doing the work right now. They are taking the fences off and filling around the tees.

He said the 5 tee signs will be installed later this month. Taking longer than expected.

I talked to the WPD. He said they have the posts for the 5 holes without tee signs. Those should be installed before the event on the 19th.

I'm making arrangements to meet the mowers on Thursday. Hoping to open up the fairways across the street. Keeping fingers crossed.
