Here are a couple of World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend tournaments that I found happening:

Tendick Disc Golf Course in Saukville, WI. This one seems to have an interesting format. April 24th Random Draw Doubles.

Rock River Challenge in Watertown, WI. Click on Rock River Challenge (May 8th).

If anyone is interested in carpooling to either one (or both) of these, let me know.

If anyone has information on other tourneys regarding World's Biggest Weekend tourneys please post them here.

Thanks.

Did not want to start a new thread for this but it is off topic.  There are over 300 players here in Bowling Green this weekend for the Bowling Green Open.  It might be the biggest advanced field of any tournament ever.  The TDs took in about $14,000 in am entry fees today and sold over $2000 in merch.

Maybe I played too much practice golf, but it did not kill me.  In the warm up am-only random draw doubles I got paired with newly wed home boy, Aubrey Wheeler.  We finished 6th of 46 teams.

With my winnings, I bought a present for Jon.  Not telling what but here's a hint:

I'm going to need more than luck.  I shot -2 at Keriakas which is neither hot nor cold.  I wanted -4, and got the birdies for it, but three putted a couple of birdie runs to get -2 instead of -6.  I'm on my lunch break before Hobson.  Then tomorrow we play the long windy courses.

Did I say I bought that antique for Jon?  I think I must have been delirious or something.  I threw it gently today during warm ups and had warm memories.

I shot poorly at Hobson and slipped a little against the field but I'm still in the top pool.  I'm something like 78th of 178 in advanced?  So I'm beating 100 players who humor themselves by playing advanced.  I'm beating a lot more players than if i was playing Am Master, and that's what i came here for.  I think I'm the only old guy playing advanced.

There are 330 total players here and this is am-only.  You would not believe the prices at the fly-mart.  The host club was selling champion plastic for $10.  It is nice to be somewhere where they see ams and don't hear, "Mooooooo."

Post something scandalous on the $10 Stratus thread at PDGA.com.  I'm using Terry Calhoun's computer and he won't let me post scandalous stuff!

The Bowling Green Open was much fun.  It was as big as an Am Worlds and the courses were pretty good.  Keriakas is built on a sloping valley so it has lots of gentle elevation.  Its large cedars and pines create a lot of holes with alternate routes.  Hobson is a little of Rum Village [before the tornado] mixed with Madeline Bertrand.  White is looong and open with lots of baby trees.  This will be a tough course in twenty years when the trees grow up.  It is a tough course right now and even tougher if you play the bike path o.b.s shown on the signs.  We did not play the o.b.s other than out of the park was o.b.  Lovers Lane is a mix of open and lightly wooded holes in a parklike setting.  It too will get tougher as the baby trees grow up.

When it was all done I finished in the top 30% of Advanced, 52nd of 178.  This would have been 6th of 30 in Advanced Masters, but I went down there to play for points against the young bucks, not to socialize with my age peers.  The trip was worth 1260 points, which should catapult me into first in the run for the Am Master obelisk.

If you are looking for a spring get-away next year, this is a great trip.  There were several Illinois and Indiana players there and I promoted the IOS to them.

Cool Bruce. Yep, Hobson is one of my favorite courses. I attended the BGO back in 1999 or 2000.  Great time!

Hey-Hey, another North of the border event!

Watertown's World's Biggest Event - Saturday, May 8th 2004
Brandt-Qwirk Park, Watertown
www.rockriverdiscclub.com

Proceeds from this event will go toward establishing a new 18-hole course.  Contact Johnny Roundhouse for more info through the website above. Sounds like there's lots of excitement about this course, so check 'em out and support a good cause.

Johnny Roundhouse

Hey Fellow Disc Golfers - wanted to say thanks for the post on the WBDGW tourney I am running in Watertown, WI on May 8th. I appreciate all the support I can get. The busineeses in town here are very reluctant to help and donate towards a course, so I am counting on all of us disc golfers to completely fund the course through persoanl donations and tournament participation. The tourney is going to be held at the actual site of the proposed permanent course. I am still waiting to hear back, but hoping Barry Schultz is going to be in attendance. Innova has donated a Mini Skill Shot, and I will be using that as the Am division trophy. This year's turnout is looking amazing, but always needing more. I have high hopes that after this tourney we will be able to get 9 permanent holes in the ground. Please preregister by mailing your name, phone, division and entrance fee to the address listed on the website - www.rockriverdiscclub.com Any questions, please call me or email - 920-342-9324 or john@rockriverdiscclub.com Thank you all again for the responses and the support.

Johnny,
I'm hoping to make it to the event. I noticed that you may need baskets for the day...does this include Ching Skill Shots? If I end up playing I'd be happy to let you use it for the day.

Johnny Roundhouse

YES - I am using about 5 Skill shots as of right now. Bring yours along!! I will use whatever I can. I have 22 baskets lined up at the moment. If I get more, great. I will figure out what to do with them. I may just take out the Skill Shots if I get enough to fill the course with the non-canvas ones. I plan on 24 holes. I have at least 20 holes right now. I have plenty of room to add a few more if I deam necessary. I may use the extra baskets for some games for any spectators to get all involved.
Just so all know - Big Mike's will be taking an order and delivering for us at 11:30/noon that day. I will also be making some Emil's Pizza - Great local maker if you don't know them. Working on a 1/4 barrel of brew from the local micro brew - Bellow's Brew Pub. Look foward to a great time.

Johnny Roundhouse

Sorry Guys - found out that Bellow's Brew Pub did not renew it's liscense for selling barrels. No Bellows Brew. We'll figure out something.

Johnny Roundhouse

Sergio - Are you coming to the Watertown's WB? I am in need of 2 more baskets, and you mentioned that you may attend. Want to know if I can add you and your Skill Shot to the basket count. PLease email me - john@rockriverdiscclub.com
Thanks
