I got a chance to check out this course last weekend. By the looks of things I think they just finished the install. The course is on an old ball golf course with a river and some elevation. On the possitive side the course has red and blue tees which are cement, some had two pin placements, with the more difficult placements tucked by OB. From the blue tees it is a par 56 (which is not needed, could easily be a par 54). On the negitive side it looks like they had a good amount of room and could have made the longs really long. Also there are large piles of dirt around the tee pads from the install, and a few of the long tees could not be used. I think the course is worth the drive, and will only get better when they finish it completely. Anyone else get a chance to check it out?

Sorry I missed you, Tom.

This course was fun and challenging. Good use of elevation. Good variation in lefty-righty as well as distance. Nice to have red/blue tees and multiple pin placements. Some of the short tees were really short and weird (either straight & wide open or a short but with a wicked 180° hook). Questionable use of some obstacles.

Much work still needs to be done, like hauling debris and clearing a green.
But a solid 3.75 out of 5 chains rating from me.

Who put this course in?
I'm glad it is there!

Tim Kopacz, the guy behind Winter Park up towards Kewaunee, WI did the design. Lake Geneva public works put the course in. Since the city guys are busy with spring cleanup then summer prep, it'll be a while before they can get back on the project but they are inviting volunteer help. I've not made it up yet but I was told that back filling dirt around the tees and straightening out the baskets were first priority. Contact point for volunteer help is Dan Winkler. Phone number is 262-248-2311. The line is a general office line so there's a chance whoever answers will not be familiar with the project.
