2014 Autumn Singles League

Over the past year, I've gotten a lot of suggestions from players.  Here are some of the things you want:
- another Singles League
- something happening somewhere every week
- to learn local courses other than Bevier

So, how's this:
I propose a 20-week long Winter Singles league, from November 9th to March 22nd.
Cost and payouts same as before:  $6 + $1 Ace optional + $1 CTP optional.
League-end Points and Prizes same as before.
We will play Bevier most of the time as well as Warren, Squaw Creek, Grayslake, and Mundelein (will depend on snow depth and tee pad quality).
This would be the longest-running league we've ever done.

Sounds awesome jim.  I would definitely be in.

Maybe even try and play some Wisc courses too, UW Parkside, Red Fox, Grey Fox, Lake Geneva.  Maybe for the farther out courses play those as a travel day once a month.

After much consideration, I'd like to propose something different for Winter League.
Since attendance was so low last year and the snow was so deep and never-ending, I'd like to do this instead:

6-week Winter Singles League from Nov 9 - Dec 14, same cost, prizes/payouts.
Nov 9 - Bevier
Nov 16 - Red Fox / Grey Fox - 27 holes!
Nov 23 - Bevier
Nov 30 -Squaw Creek
Dec 7 - Bevier
Dec 14 - Bevier

Then, in the Spring:
8-week Spring Singles League from March 1 - April 19, 2015.
Considering ideas for splitting into upper / lower pools, like two separately tracked leagues. But we need good turnouts every week to make this work best.  All at Bevier.

13-week Summer Singles League
May 17 - August 9, 2015.
I'd like to have this be a sponsored league with several divisions and possibly make it a PDGA-sanctioned league that gets points and ratings.

Details have been finalized for the 2014 Autumn Singles League:

7-week Winter Singles League from Nov 2 - Dec 14.
$5 entry, $1 club fee, optional $1 CTP, optional $1 Ace pool
Points: 2 points for playing; 1 point for each person you beat.
Prizes will be awarded at end of league!


Nov 2 - Bevier - 21 holes
Nov 9 - Bevier - 21 holes
Nov 16 - Red Fox / Grey Fox - 27 holes - early start at 9:30 sharp!
Nov 23 - Bevier - 21 holes
Nov 30 -Squaw Creek - 19 holes
Dec 7 - Bevier - 21 holes
Dec 14 - Bevier - 21 holes

As always, we will have some hand warmers available each week as well as an extra CTP for prizes!
This league is only 7 weeks so plan on making as many as you can.
Ace Pool starts at $30+.

Some windy conditions today took a toll on most of us, but Sang and a few others managed to navigate the course pretty well.
Glad to see more people showing up each week!

Next week league is at Red Fox / Grey Fox in Silver Lake.
Special start at 9:30. We will be playing 27 holes!

It was a fun 27 holes today, north of the border!
The Disc Golf Guy, Terry Miller, showed up and filmed a quick segment of his show there.
Tom S. had a hot round and took home the Ace Fund! Again.

Next week is back at Bevier at 10am.

ready for sunday at bevier. be advised that hole five will take disc in a heart beat, had two get out on the ice but got them back. and there has been a constant heavy head wind on 21, that's flipping disc like pancakes. see you there.

Week 4: The rain held off for the most part and weather was good. There were lots of great putts today.

We had some fun golf this weekend!
Rob hit an ace on Hole 13 at Squaw Creek whites for $30!
That makes 4 total aces during leagues this year, paying out over $200 in all.

With only 6 strokes separating the top six players, Tom took the win and is skating to becoming points champion for this league. Let's just say that, for him to lose, it will take a huge turnout this coming Sunday and Tom will have to stay home.   

So come on out to Bevier this Sunday and play the final round of official leagues this year!
We'll have a brief awards ceremony afterward.
I have bagtags and can sign you up for membership on the spot.

Tom Schodtler easily won the points for the Autumn Singles, while Sang and Jayson proved they are always in contention.
