The weather was gorgeous and there was close to capacity turnout both days.

Keith Warren won a playoff with Aaron Wield for 1st. Aaron had come off the 3rd card I think and shot a new course record of -18 for 23 holes. Brian Schweberger was 3rd and Barry tied for 4th or 5th after having a one-shot lead over Keith after the 1st round.

Dave Brown won 2nd in Pro Masters in a playoff.

Pat Wood took 3rd in Adv Masters and I tied for 4th out of 15 or so. We were tied after the 1st round but he beat me by 2 shots in the 2nd round; Pat was -1 for the day, I was +1, so he's still got tag #6  <_<  (nice job Pat).

Players package was great; towel, UV mini, water bottle, free D or maybe X disc, but I took a $3 upgrade and bought the Flash that I had postponed picking up at Streamwood.

For 4th place I got 4 Discraft discs (I think they had a deal going w/ Discraft) - a cryZtal challenger, Z-XS, X-Talon and a D X2 I think, also a $5 coupon for Fazoli's which I and several other players cashed in immediately after the awards ceremonies.  :P  Pat also got a cool medal for 3rd.

Only complaint would be the lousy chains on the baskets there - they spit out at least 2 decent putts of mine, and I wasn't the only one having problems with them.
thanks,
Damon

This is the second year I have played this tournament and this is one of the best run tournaments I have played. They have a great group of people working to put on a very well run event on a great course. From the TD to support staff, score keepers and spotters (sometimes two or three) on just about every tough hole. I did not hear any complaints about payouts, other than the plastic was mostly Discraft, or how things were run.
Damon is right the baskets are tough. The chains hang straight down and if you hit them to the right or left your disc will probably be laying on the ground not in the basket.
All in all, I had a good day on a great couse. And I believe I moved into 3rd place in Advanced Masters for the Wisconsin Tour.

I think I'll put Manitowalk on the tentative schedule for next year. I'll be getting my fake I.D. this year so that I can play Masters next year.  ;)  That is assuming that there still is a Masters division next year and the age limit stays the same. The last time I came close to qualifying for Masters they upped the age limit by 5 years. Although I do like the rule that it's the year that you turn 40. So I get to "bag" in Masters for almost 12 months since I won't actually turn 40 until December 20th of 2005.

it's been rated already, and for the first time I had 2 900+ rounds back-to-back.  :D  :D

I can retire now. After Des Moines, I may have to.

Looks like those 4 discs I got were 'valued' at $62, which is a bit of a stretch, although I guess the cryZtal challenger goes for $25 or more in certain places...?

Aaron Wield's -18 was rated at 1078!!

Selling the Cryztal Z Challengers for $25 is just ridiculous. They cost the same as the other Z discs from Discraft.

I believe I heard the same thing about the crystal z challengers being worth $25 at Manitowoc. I am not sure who said it though.
Maybe they were being sold as a fund raiser. They have the Manitowalk in the Park stamp.
If anyone wants to purchase one make me an offer. I also have a UV Challanger I'd part with.

Jon Brakel

If someone is selling them as a fundraiser, that's different. Although even if they aren't I guess it's willing seller, willing buyer anyway. If someone wants an IOS stamped Cryztal Z Challenger, you can buy one at the last IOS or the Blast for $12 or $13.
