I went to school with Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine. If you ever hear him talk about growing up "brown in a white world" feel free to laugh with me. He was a high school celebrity because he was so talented--both musically and acting. I don't think this takes away from his talent, but he did not have a difficult childhood. His mother is also a great lady.
