Glad to see that the Canadian goose is less of a nuisance than a Dog at least in Great Lakes Region. I feel that this small poll would translate across the board anywhere in the U.S. (Where Dogs and Geese co-exist.)

Canadian Geese and Dogs

This is my position and argument for the poll.

Today Legislation exists for the legalization for Municipalities to control the Population of Geese in Parks and Public areas. They would be treated like pest and populations controlled ie Killed OFF

If Legislation is passed, Park district, Forest Preserve Boards and folks that control large tracts of property that has been inhabited with geese would take action and destroy habitats and summarily kill Canadians so their Parks and Forest Preserves, school properties could be enjoyed by dog loving anti Disc Golf playing Maniacs.

Dogs and Canadian Geese do not co exist... The Only time you will see a Domesticated Dog in a Fields of Geese is if he is loose or the owner has not experienced the fallout in their home of Goose dump in their home. Geese and Dogs simply do not exist together. The owners wont tolerate the mess. Dogs by the way LOVE Chasing GEESE !

Where Dogs ARE... Disc Players are not welcome.
Supporting Geese Populations Promotes the Use of Property that can not be used for Picnicking parties or letting dogs run free, but disc golf courses can be built. The Property that is commanded by geese is virtually useless for 99% of the time. Case in Point Vernon Hills Little Bear Lagoon.
The Goose is an ally that Disc Golf Can Not afford to lose.

Some food for thought...

Dogs do not pay taxes... Then why does Lake County Forest Preserve have three separate huge tracts of property dedicated to the pleasure of a DOG.

Golf Clubs do not pay taxes... then why does Lake County Forest Preserve have Millions of Dollars invested in Three Golf Courses in Lake County and Not One Eighteen Hole Disc Golf Course.

Dogs are considered Personal Property if you stole someone's Golf Clubs Odds are you would receive a larger penalty than taking someone's pet.

I understand that a pet is important but is it more important that Disc Golf being shut out of Lake County Forest Preserve.
I understand that Ball Golf is a Money Maker but where is the equality in no Disc golf course to relieve the burden placed on Local Park districts and snub out Disc Golf. I say if a Forest Preserve district supports ball golf in its jurisdiction that it must recognize disc golf before Dogs.

If you support this more info is on the way. This is not just an Issue IN lake County it is an Issue across the U.S.
