For Wakanda the same weekend... slightly cheaper entry for both..

Are any of you playing the Warm-Up this weekend?

The girls, Chelsea and Carolyn, were looking for ANY excuse not to be home Friday night because the menu says, "Spinach Pie," which they think is an incredible waste of perfectly good pie crust.

The nearest tournament this weekend involves too much rock climbing.  The next closest tournament is being run by a TD who is brazenly advertising that it is an am-scam event.

So, there is about a 50/50 chance we might come out.  I bought a membership back in 2001 but never played a sanctioned tournament.

The weather report for Janesville for Saturday just refuses to say anything positive at all.  The hourly forecast is for rain all day.  We will probably keep it local and casual this weekend and save the road trip money for another time.

Is anyone planning on coming up to Janesville this weekend?  Here is my post that I have the PDGA message board:

As most of you have seen, there will be a small, fun, D-tier event this weekend in Janesville. It is the "WI Tour Warm Up". You can find some details on http://www.widiscsports.com/assets/wtw1.pdf .

The "ams" mean Am, Adv, Am Women, etc and "pro" means, Pro Master, Pro Women, Pro Men, etc. I am leary about how many trophies to have made since they will cut into the small payout and because it's hard to gauge how many people will be there.

On behalf of all the divisional winners, I will be cutting checks to whichever WI Tour Stop they wish to attend. Also - you do NOT need to be a PDGA member for this event but if you haven't already re-newed, I will have the info there and I will gladly send it in for you.

E-mail me with questions - terry@prodiscgolfer.com

PS - Brice - Were you referring to my event as not being the one with too much rock climbing but as an 'am scam' event?

Actually, neither. I think Brice was referring to the two events that were actually within a few hundred miles of him. Your event is a haul for him but since he wasn't interested in the events close to him, he was considering a road trip to your event.

I understand now.  Jon - are you or anyone else planning to come check out the event?

PS - We are looking to have the World Champ onsite as well!

The disc golf rock climbing event just got moved to a flatter venue!  Turns out the rocks are too icy to climb in March.  Duh!

The TD for the am-scam event is advertising on his website that there will be absolutely nothing added to the amateur divisions beyond what is required for a C-tier.  He already has $1500 in amateur preregistration.  He's promising up front that he is paying out no more than 85% at retail after making every permitted deduction.  That guy has cahones!  You gotta admire that while making the mental note never to play there again.

So, Birgitta is coming?  Brad Hammock?  That Kelsey Brakel kid?  There are sooo many World Champs.

Brian

brice,
What tournament are you talking about?  Since I don't know where you live around and I would like to know about certian events to miss.

I really wanted to but I'm driving to Delphos, OH right after our club meeting on Sunday, so I have to get some stuff done on Saturday.

Praire Open has been changed from a C-teir to a B-teir.

At Tower Ridge this weekend Sean Butler tied 2nd in Open.  Pat Blake tied for fifth I believe.  Keith Warren didn't even come close to cashing.
