I thought that Hamm was suspended for 3 months, do you know what Denis is going to do?

He's not on the PDGA suspension list that came out today.

I heard about another WI player recently that is going to be suspended, but I didn't hear about Hamm.

There is a Wisconsin player on the suspension list that came out today but it is not Hamm. The list never says how long the suspension is. I don't know if they've ever posted the info for the public.

The suspension on that Wisconsin player is three months, from May 8 to August 8, I believe.  What did he do?

If the player is Jason Hamm it is because he was turned in for smoking pot during the Tower Ridge Open.

I do not believe that was Jason Hamm. I think it was another Jason.

Due to an infraction of the illegal substance use rules the PDGA disciplinary committee sent me the following information:

Effective Monday, May 16th, Wisconsin disc golfer, Jason (Vincent) Holmes has been suspended from all PDGA tournaments for a period of 3 months.  As of August 16th he will then be placed on a 1 year probationary period.  Jason is NOT ELIGIBLE to compete in PDGA sanctioned events.

No, it wasn't Jason Hamm...it was Jason HOLMES. Really too bad because he's a pretty good player. Looks like he's been struggling a little lately. If his suspension is from May 8 until August 8 then he shouldn't have been allowed to play in the Fox Valley Open, which he participated.

Sorry, didn't read Brett's post about the name of the golfer.

Quotewhats max field?
I'm not sure the max field numbers...unfortunately I don't think we'll max out. It would be nice to close to it. If I recall correctly, past Prairie Open's were maxed at 90 per day.

Baraboo Lions Open, June 11-12

Advanced Am (Mike Batka took first place with a -10):

T3. Sergio C. (-7)
T7. Joe W. (-4)

Intermediate Women:

1. Carla G. (+6)

Open: Terry Miller won (can't remember score; I know he was -13 first round and under par second round.)

Wasn't a great turnout but was a fun time.  We played the short tees first round and long tees the second round. Extremely warm/blazing hot temperatures. Could have really used a pull cart considering the amount of water/Gatorade that was in the bag.

Anybody else going to the Pickle Open?

I am spending the weekend up there with the wife and kid, staying at the new water park, and probably playing Adv. Master on Sunday.

This is always a very fun tournament with extra games and lots of prizes. The course is pretty short, but hole #13 on Lake Michigan is great.

Really gorgeous weather up there this weekend. I believe they had another full turnout on Sunday. The winner shot something like -24 for 20x2 holes.

I shot -15 but came up one friggin shot short of winning Adv Masters. Would've tied for pro GM. I gained a stroke on the last hole so it wasn't like I choked at the end. On the contrary, I choked on the first 3 holes of the 2nd round (I was one back at the start) but managed to make 'em all back by the end.
thanks,
Damon

Could I possibly play any worse if I didn't practice putting??

Congratulations Damon! you played great and nearly beat the Wisconsin Tour's most notorious sandbagger.

This was one of the most fun tournaments I've ever been played. The weather was perfect, and the TD Ryan and his support staff Dennis and Leroy and others did great job. They are very friendly and hospitable up there.

I shot -5 for the day which earned me a split of 5th and 6th spots plus 1 CTP and 1 game prize, so I got out of there with a very nice short stack of plastic.

Manitowoc is next month, another don't miss event.

QuoteCongratulations Damon! you played great and nearly beat the Wisconsin Tour's most notorious sandbagger.
A sandbagger, by definition, is someone who artifically inflates his handicap (or lowers his rating in disc golf) in order to gain an advantage. Since there is no rating cap for Advanced divisions how could this player be sandbagging? It is absolutely impossible, by definition of the term, for anyone playing in an advanced division to sandbag. The only way to "sandbag" in Advanced Masters is if someone underage were to lie about their age in order to play in the division.
