I don't have a problem with Steve Nichols playing Adv Masters any more. I did the first year I played. He is within his rights to do so. I know if I to win a WI Tour tournament I have to beat Steve. That's what I told Tom Jenkins when he asked me about it at the Tour Finale last year.
Steve sells the plastic he wins and so do I if I can find someone who throws the Discraft I seem to win. Not many of those people around here. So I give a lot of it to my son and his friends.

Anyone planning on playing in the Badger State Games this weekend? Not a Wisconsin Tour event but should be a fun time.

Right...  non-sanctioned.

Play for medals, no payout.  I believe you get a shirt also..  maybe a clif bar or something also..  I played in it a few years ago, was fun.
Let us hope that the whores of evil no longer loiter on the doorsteps of your path beckoning you into the brothel of despair, and that here and after may present them with the most rigid manistfestation of a firm and manly will.

You have to be a resident of Wisconsin to play.

Awesome time!

87 players played on Saturday (Singles)
30some players on Sunday (Random Draw Doubles - Open Division/Amateur Division)

Some of the results can be seen at THIS PAGE

Saturday:
OPEN
Gold: Terry Miller
Silver: Don Barrette
Bronze: Mike Schwieger

ADVANCED MEN:
Gold: Sergio Correa
Silver: Jason Smith
Bronze: Mike Batka

AMATEUR WOMEN:
Gold: Carla Gomez
Silver: Nicole Sauer
Bronze: Nadine Malm

My first advanced division tournament win! Saturday played first round short tees, second round long tees.

Sunday: Random Draw Doubles/Only two divisons (Open/Am)
OPEN:
Gold: Barry Schultz/Zac Cobus (-14)
Siver: Sergio Correa/Todd Ebbens (-13)
Bronze: Dane Miller/Johnny Pecunia (-10)
4th place: Joe Weitzel/Brent Baartman (-9)

Todd and I definitely missed some opportunities. We threw -5 the first round and a -8 the second. Open Division played long tees both rounds. If you're familiar with Token Creek, the baskets were in the longest pin placements all weekend. Barry and Zac birdied 3 of the last 4 holes to secure the win.

QuoteJon, you gonna take the plunge into Adv Masters at Manitowoc next month?
Hey Damon, is Manitowoc cartable? And is that the course that we played two years ago after the safari in Sheboygan?

Yes. and Yes. 5 additional holes - we played one of them, after #9, from the top of the hill to the practice basket; Then there's a short but vexing tunnel shot to another practice basket before #10; 3 temps - a couple of pretty long ones next to the Army lot across the road; and a 5th one that's been challenging but kind of dumb in the past; they keep changing it.
thanks,
Damon

Keith Warren's back.

no pun intended, he apparently had a problem with his back.

He won at Manitowoc yesterday with some ridiculous score and beat Chris Heeren by one.  -26 or something like that for 46 holes.

Full field of 135 both days. I got to play both rounds w/ Duster, who edged me out for 'last cash' in open GM, which I wasn't going to take anyhow.  :P  It was fun to complain about the design of the course with the guy who designed the course.

Duster's caddy the second rd was Barry Schultz's nephew; nice kid, 14 or 15. Duster says he's already throwing 300+ and his driving/putting style is exactly like Barry's. Duster was *his* caddy on Saturday.
thanks,
Damon

Looking at the results of Manitowoc I see Steve Nichols would have won the Masters division which paid $528!  He would have cashed in Open also.  I guess he really wants to be an Am player.  Go figure.

You should have stuck around for his acceptance speach. It was priceless.

Pro Masters $528.
Advanced $232.
Advanced Masters $171.

Beating all of you....... PRICELESS!!!

And then he stormed off.

Ahh, Steve. Making freinds every where he goes.
