Frolfing Illini / Discontinuum showdown!!!!

I just got an email about this from one of the chair members of the Frolfing Illini.  What a great idea.  Name the time and place, I will be there to probably get beaten.  I am looking forward to meeting you guys.  I hope we can set something up at West Park or Mokena.

ahhh just got another email...  they want to have it the weekend of graduation!!!!  I might be the only one on the team that is actually graduating from college this semester.  That is really, really dissappointing.  Maybe I should fail some classes intentionally.

I got this rolling by posting in their guestbook and raising the issue with their leaders and Discontinuum's officers.

I'm now negotiating a date and format with their leaders.  If you want to play on the Discontinuum side, you need to pay your club dues.  If you want to play on the Illini side you need to enroll, although May 2005 graduates and transferees who were on the team in 2005 will still be eligible.  I'm updating on the thread for this topic in the Club Members area.  I'm planning on throwing some sponsorship at the event.  

Due to their schedules, a Saturday in July or August is a likely date, and Mokena is a possible venue.  

Format information will be posted on the thread in the Club Members area as it becomes available.

Has there been any word on club members' availability for this?  I talked to the Frolfing Illini club president yesterday and he mentioned that he couldnt get a hold of Bruce.  The tentative date for this was this coming saturday, if I remember correctly.

I could not get a committment to a date back in May when this first came up, and I gave up on it once my summer got booked.  I'm out.

Well we are getting together as a team this saturday for sure.  There are maybe 8-10 of us, so if enough people want to show up we can make something happen.  I dont know what everyone's thoughts are on the stakes.  I havent seen any of the Frolfing Illini guys for months (except one last week), so I dont know if any of them are even playing regularly.  I know my game is about 10 times better than it was this spring.....  I'm always up for a friendly wager on a round.

Its looking like saturday at Mokena.  Not sure on the time but most likely it will be late morning or early afternoon.
