This course was another nice course. I did not like it as much as Morton. This is a course for the big arms. 7 holes 300+ & 3 holes 400+. The start to this course is great. There is great elevation. Hole #2 was in the 290 range shooting straight hill. I skipped off the ground 20 feet in front of the tee pad & I ended up shooting 30 feet past the basket. The only reason I didn't like the course was because of the middle section of the course. All the hole were the same. Holes carved through the woods. The distance was basically the same. #17 & 18 were 2 great holes to end with. 17 was 400+ & #18 played back 800+ but very 3-able for the big arms. Jason & I took 4's. You throw from the top of a hill. Jason threw a monster that was probably 350 to 375. Overall this is a solid course & also worth the trip.

This was also a good course for the most part.  It had a lot of elevation and  a ton of blind shots.  It did get a little monotonous towards the back 9 with a ton of alley shots.  Maybe better players would have liked this but I'm not quite good enough to throw through a 10 ft wide alley yet.  The course is still definitely worth visiting if you're in the area.

Sorry to resurrect this thread from the Dead. I finally finished posting the pics for this course. I only did the short tees, and trying to dodge skeeters in July is why some of the pics are blurry. Hope to get a sunny day next year to get pics of the longs.

Finally got down here today for the first time in a couple of years; started out with a round at Morton.

The weather was perfect; nice change not having to deal with these courses in the heat and/or wind.

Northwoods seems like 2 or 3 holes have changed since the last Peoria Open; changes for the better though.

My first drive of the day at Morton went straight down the middle, bent wonderfully around a large tree at the top of the hill, then proceeded to smack a small one and go straight down in the leaves. I looked for about 20 minutes and gave up, but to my shock and enjoyment proceeded to shoot bogey-free and -5 (obviously from the short tees) til I got to 17 and 18.  - still 2 down though.

McNaughton went fairly well; met up with a couple of guys from Janesville who'd come down for a Peoria DG daytrip. I played easily better than any tournaments there, actually parred a couple holes that I'd never done better than 5s on.

As I was saying goodbye to these guys, one of them mentioned he'd lost a disc today but found one on #1 at Morton. I described it, and he slowly pulled it out of his bag.    Perfect end to a very pleasant day.

I'm down here for the high school state final cross-country meet (long story), but hope to get another round in somewhere here late tomorrow afternoon.
