I usually carry around 19 but I keep trying to cut it down. Carry a few less in the snow anyhow,
leaving out discs I really don't wanna lose.

Mix & match from:
172 10x KC or Star Teebird
172 DX Teebird
166 Champ Firebird
172-4 DX Firebird
172-4 10x or DX Banshee
150 Flick
174 & 168 Sidewinder  (the 168 is clear and I don't use it in the snow)
168 Flash til I lost it in the snow even though I saw where it landed; replacement isn't working out yet, even though it's the same weight
168 Crush ; 172 when most of my tendons are behaving
172+ Pro Starfire
172-4 DX and/or 150 Champ. Valkyrie (150 for 'special conditions', high winds not being one of them)
166 & 154 Champ Orc - if I carry both I'll take something else out
166 &/or 150 Z- and/or 172ish X-Talon
171 Pro Wraith occasionally (still getting used to it)
168ish? Cyclone (very beat)
170ish Stratus
168 Roc (often a 150 or 180 also)
170ish z-Wasp
179 Champ Shark
175 Coyote (sometimes)
175 SE Rhyno
175 'soft' (allegedly) Wizard or 175 SS Omega or 175 Aviar
150 Aviar

15-20(?) Innova
6-7 Discraft
1 Gateway
1 Millennium (sometimes)
thanks,
Damon

That is only 10 disc total....  don't really understand why someone would want to haul around more then 12-14..   Just a waste of energy to me...  less discs, less thought as what to throw.  As for backups, I keep them in the car..

Once someone learns to play competitively, they will be more consistent by learning fewer molds but learning them well. For me, with the amount of practice that I put in (or don't), it is easier to throw the disc that will tend to the turn and glide that I want to do with that shot, rather than learn how to do a variety of effects with one mold. I would throw the 150 Flick for almost all of my drives except that it doesn't play as well in the wind as some of my other drivers. I throw so many different kinds of junk shots with the midranges that I carry that I really need a few to choose from. Angle, speed of release, upside or downside orientation all have an effect on what window I can use to get out of trouble. Once I figure that out then I have to select the mold that will get me closest to the basket thru that window.

As far as the number of discs carried, some people have excess energy (not me) that they want to spend. When I use a cart I take backups with me since I'm not carrying them. When I carry the bag the backups stay in the car.

So YOU'RE the one!  I figured out today that last year I bought 75% Innova, 22.5% Discraft and 2.5% other for the IOS players.  I spent $20,000 on discs last year.   :o  Unfortunately, I still have to pay sales tax on the Innova.   :'(

I guess I justify hauling all those extra discs as a form of exercise... there are times though, even during a good round, where I'll find that I've thrown nearly everything in the bag/cart at least once, although there probably wouldn't have been much difference if I'd thrown only a half-dozen. I might try cutting way down for 'real' rounds this year as it can't possibly be much worse than some of my rounds in 05.  B)

* I said this PRIOR to being on Team Discraft * :  "Unless you are being paid (sponsored) by a specific company to throw their discs, you are only CHEATING yourself".

I'm not being cocky but I think I'm the highest rated person that is going to post to this thread (at least as of right now).  Am I the highest rated because I throw Discraft? - Heck NO.  I'm the highest rated because I get the job done with a given disc - please learn ONE thing - it doesn't matter which discs you throw.  "It's the Indian NOT the arrow"

Please don't jump all over me for my thoughts - I'm just trying to shed a little light on a very Innova biased area.

In the (Discraft Tour) bag:  (13 Discs)

D Challenger (3)  - I putt with just one and the other 2 are for warming up.
X Comet (3)       - One of the most under-rated discs on the planet.
X Buzz
Z Buzz (2)
Z Wildcat
Z Crush (3)

I have to agree with Terry on this one.  I would never have realized how great of a disc the Pro Challenger is if I threw only Innova.

I feel that Innova and to a smaller exent the other companies are flooding the market.  There is no time to learn a new disc before the next latest and greatest come out.

The only disc I don't have confidence in replacing is my Champion Orc. Other than that every disc is replacable. Oh maybe not my baby blue CE Valk too :tshirt:

i'm wondering how many players out there are actually biased to the point that they will ONLY throw Innova?
