the glencoe baseball association wants to make a new baseball stadium at south park in glencoe, and that would eliminate 1-3 holes from the course making it a 6 holer!if you ever play at glencoe please help us save the course, there is a meeting to discuss the stadium/course and we are want to be repersented there.  pm me for more details, i will post when i get the time and location of the meeting, it is on february 13th.
thanks for your support,

That...well you know (insert your favorite colorful explative here)

Dan is right.  The course leaves a lot to be desired.  However, the reality is that its the only thing within miles and the closest to Chicago.  I do not knnow of another park in Glencoe where the course can be relocated.  Can you think of one?

Let us know when the meeting is.  I will be there and willing to speak.  We need to know what space they want.  I assume it would effect holes 2, 8 and 9.  There is some open space in parkland just across the street to the north.  Perhaps some of the holes can be relocated there.  If we know what they want to do with the baseball thing we can think of reasonable alternatives to simpliy cutting out three holes.  Lets face it, disc golf does not bring in money.  Baseball does.  I suspect we will be beating our heads against the chains if we simply cry.  We will need to think of ways to save 9 holes while allowing them to play ball.

Andrew, I think having locals there will be most important.  Whats up with your club at New Treir?  If you guys, and especially a faculty rep, can be there, it would be good.

i didn't mean the course sux (not that its awesome), just that it sux that they are pulling it.

i've actually played there several times.  its a good place to go if u just want to practice without a bunch of chuckers throwing behind you or playing in an 8some in front of you.  very quiet, rich neighborhood.

im hoping to get 10-20 people there, the guy who put in the course, mike glass, will be there and he is also planning on speaking.  after looking at the blue print of the baseball "stadium" it look s like we will probably lose 7(sometimes) ,8,9, sometimes 3 and probably  2.  hopefully we can move some of those across the street to the north like you were saying dave, but im not so sure if the park district will approve.  obviously the course isnt great, but its 5 minutes from my house and we are getting more and more players, and they just put in new tee pads, so its upseting to see it get messed up liek this. this is just the first meeting and after they approve the stadium they wont start building until next fall. the meeting is february 13th at either 7 or 730 at the glencoe parkdistrict
thanks again
