I'm going to be in New Lenox next sunday (no league :-().  anyway, it just came to my attention that i'll be done with the drumline competition that i'm there for before dark.  are there any courses around there that i should hit up?  i'm only fifteen, so i can't usually get much further than beavier, and i want to try some new ones.

Well, there's the course in New Lennox.  Try www.pdga.com.  Click on Course Directory in the upper right and then click on Illinois in the map.  There are a lot of courses in the I-80 corridor.  New Lennox is probably one of the lamer ones.

I would sugest trying out Mokena, it's a really nice course, 27 holes with three sets of tees.

you'll be very close to channahon which is a very nice course.  thats also on the pdga course directory if you need directions.

As someone who has been really "venturing out" I am glad i found this website.  Too bad my first post has to be a negative about this New Lennox course (Haynes Wayside).  I was really disappointed.

It had some promise but the missing holes had a lot to do with my dissapointment.  Also,  to prevent this i would suggest reporting vandalism at the area courses.

top four joliet area courses in order
west park
channahan
Shorewood

Additional area courses i like;
Bartlett (sunrise)
the OAKS - amazing
Lombard - the 18 hole cant think of the name right now.

Ilive in naperville so this may be useful info for some ppl

thanks for reading

Other really nice courses within driving distance (that I've been to) are Lemon Lake in Indiana and UW Parkside in Kenosha. If you are interested in taking a weekend trip to Michigan, I can recommend 20 or 30 courses that will quickly jump up to your favorites list.

thanks for the replies guys.

I haven't ventured out that far yet, but i am making a trip to Denver this weekend and would love to bring my discs with me for some mountain shots.  It's definitely exciting to try new courses. I am amazed at how evolved this game has become and am hooked.

I would definitely play in Indiana/Michigan...any good courses off the I80-I65 Corridor in Indiana.

I went to school i Bloomington IN, i've played 1 course down there, a nice 18 hole'r but until this summer i haven't ventured out much.
