Not on the ledge yet. All I know is Buhrle did not get a ball over 86 mph yesterday.  You have to be perfect to have any success when you top out at 86.  That's why Maddox is getitng hammered lately.  He has an excuse.  He is a thousand years old (in baseball years)  There are more good teams this year.  What can a fan say on a hot summer day when his team looks like they are wearing blue rather than black?  BOURBONNAIS!

back to reality sox fans.  the luck has run out and now u all realize that you suck and always will.  its not so much fun having a goofball incompetent manager once you start losing is it?

btw, don't follow this post with anything related to the cubs, yes they suck and i don't deny it.  that has nothing to do with the fact that the white sox suck and their fans are dirty SOBs.

Thanks Dan!!!  I can always count on a club member to make me feel better.  I am out of my funk and ready for baseball.  Your sage thoughts have brought me back to Reality.  Our bad patch is over and the Sox can resume playing like WORLD CHAMPIONS. Bring on those Orioles. The Sox are going to kick their...  Its a great day. The sun is shining.  All the Sox pitchers fingers feel ok.  I think I'll come out to Fairfield tonight just to spread the love and maybe get paired up with my favorite Cubs fan.

airspuds

it aint over til its over

lots of games left  62

this team can hit, pitch and play defense

they just have to do all three well during a game to win

ive been through more losing seasons than winning

yeah its great to be world champs and the expectations are high

there is a lot of pressure to win and mistakes get magnified as they should when things dont go well

relax sox fans

again  i stay with my orignal prediction

world series 2006  champs

Welcome to the world of a Cubs player and Cubs fan... been under that magnifying glass since Bartman in '03 (although some would say since '08 instead... 1908 that is)

That's clever Dan.  You're like the homeless guy under the bridge cuz his house burned down looking up at the mansion on the hill laughing at the guy whose grill flamed up while he was barbequing his porterhouse.

Also, what's with the Cub fans throwing garbage on the field?  And I'm not talking about Dusty.

Wow, 1.5 seasons of almost spotless baseball and after a 15 game bad stretch "our luck is over", huh?  If only the Cubs fans would be this intolerant of their own team.  It only took you 80 years of suckiness to admit they're horrible.  And I'll knock the Cubs all I want even if you do admit they suck.  I know of buckets of hair that are better managers than Dusty.  And the fans are throwing garbage on the field as the empty beer cups play better than some of the Cubs players, they're trying to get those crappy players off the field since Dusty and the Cubs mgmnt won't.  In the end, even if the White Sox don't win another game this year, they'll do it with World Series Champs rings on their fingers.  You may talk smack again when the Sox only win 3 games in a month.

In Chicago, being a sports fan is synonymous with being a glutton for disappointment, no matter what team you support. There are glimmers of greatness, but nothing solid since the Jordan-era.

But, I am one of the hated people in Chicagoland with no baseball loyalties....    >:D

I don't take any joy in the cubs only managing to have 63 wins with 5 games left to go, and while I'm happy to see the Sox go out... but on a more "serious" note...

Doesn't what happened to the Sox kind of remind of you what happened to the 2004 Cubs?  They TANKED at the end of that year.  While the cubs didn't win it all the previous year, it's almost like the same thing with the sox from '05 to '06.  very weird.  Just as long as Konerko or Thome don't walk out of the clubhouse during the 1st inning in the last game of the season you should be ok for next year ;)

I put a lot of the blame on Ozzy.  Last year he was a spark that got that team going.  He controlled the mood in the dugout.  This year he just sat there for the most part.  Totally different guy this year.  With our overall team stats, it's ridiculous that we aren't in the playoffs.  I still love 'em, but after their performance in the last 3rd of the season, they don't deserve a post season.  Now, how many days til spring training??? ;D

After tonight I'll have 24 games at Wrigley on the year, 1 at Miller, and none at Comiskey.  Still never been there.  At least I got to see the sox kick some ass on the North side once this year.

your manager is a joke, no doubt, but the sox pitching sucks.  thats the problem you have to fix for next year.  the sox scored a ton of runs this year (i think near the top in the ML), too bad you wasted Dye's career year.  I'd expect Dye to be good again next year, but not as good.  Thome has the potential to go way downhill as he enters the twilight of his career.  I dont' really see much hope with the current pitching staff of the Sox, they better make some additons.

FYI,  YOU ARE ALL A BUNCH OF LOSERS!!!!!  :)

The reality is Cubs fans are disappointed because the season ended before the snow melted last Spring. Sox fans are disappointed because a very good team choked down the stretch.  We are both disappointed, its just a lot more recent for us.

That said, Dan, you made a very good point.  The Sox scored plenty of runs.  Pitching was their strength last year and a big weakness this year.  The biggest concern to me is Burhrle.  If the Sox wanted a soft tossing lefty they could have called on me.  Buhrle is still one of the smartest pitches out there.  However, he barely throws over 85.  When he could throw 88-91 his changeup was devastating.  Now he just aspires to be Jamie Moyer but doesn't have as wicked of a curve ball.

There will be a lot of reassessment on the South Side.  The team will look at their failure and work to move past it. Thhey will still be a very good team next year.  On the North side the team will look at their ticket sales and say, "@#^$ it.  We sold plenty of tickets.  The Ivy was green this year.  We aint changing anything."  Real Cub fans are doing what real Sox fans did for years.  Staying at home.  Maybe management will get the message.  Until then...Bear down!

Mike S

Ugh, Cubs tickets were like the plague this year.  I couldnt give them away.  Seriously, I had tickets to probably 4 or 5 games that went unsold and unused, even when I tried to give them away.

i hate to tell you Dave, but staying at home doesn't make you a "real" fan, just a fairweather fan.
