PDGA Mini Marker

Well, this one is gone.  I guess I need one, i'm playing in a tournament next week.  Does anybody have one they want to get rid of or know where I can pick one up?

Its a drag losing your PDGA mini.  However, you can use any mini at any tournament.  I have yet to attend one where you can't pick up a mini for a buck or two.  Or, if you are near a regular player, such as Mirth, they likely have a bunch of them.  Good luck at the tournament.

In a pinch a lot of regular items can be used for a marker. The plastic top to a Pringles can comes to mind. I've used the discs from an old hard disk drive before. Bruce used to use an old glass ashtray until it broke. Those cardboard coasters that a lot of restaurants and bars use are about the right size. The coolest marker that Bruce ever used was the emblem from an old car. It doesn't need to even be round...use your imagination!

From the PDGA rule book: Mini marker discs shall be used to mark a player's lie as required by these rules. Mini marker discs must have a diameter of between 7 and 15 centimeters and a height not exceeding 3 centimeters.

There are a lot of things that are between 7 and 15 centimeters wide and not taller than 3 centimeters!

The Olds part was the coolest mini ever! Bruce loses about 50 minis per year so it makes sense that he uses found objects for his minis. It would also make him a huge litter bug except that he picked those up off the course so its a break even in the pick up the litter, leave the mini on the ground ratio.

It looked like one of those polyurethane wheels from a Razor scooter.

Oh, I just found the sterling silver ash tray. It is Reed & Barton and serially numbered 0210. Pullman used to give them away to VIPs. If you ever see me frisking myself every fifteen minutes while playing a round, I'm just checking to see if I've lost my sterling silver ash tray.

so i finally got this back.  some kid had it in his pocket at adler when i was there playing the high school thing.  got really lucky.  nice eye andy, thanks a lot man.
