My PDGA stuff came in yesterday, used my marker today at league and lost it.  It's 28781.  Post if you can help me out.

Thanks

Well, this one is gone.  I guess I need one, i'm playing in a tournament next week.  Does anybody have one they want to get rid of or know where I can pick one up?

Thanks

Its a drag losing your PDGA mini.  However, you can use any mini at any tournament.  I have yet to attend one where you can't pick up a mini for a buck or two.  Or, if you are near a regular player, such as Mirth, they likely have a bunch of them.  Good luck at the tournament.

K-Biscuit

Mirth, I have rehearsal tonight.  Any chance I could stop by on the way home again?  It shouldn't be as late, practice ended half an hour late last time.  Bell's about to ring, if that works out for you, send me a PM or an e-mail with your address, i don't remember it.

Thanks for the luck chain, i'll need it.

In a pinch a lot of regular items can be used for a marker. The plastic top to a Pringles can comes to mind. I've used the discs from an old hard disk drive before. Bruce used to use an old glass ashtray until it broke. Those cardboard coasters that a lot of restaurants and bars use are about the right size. The coolest marker that Bruce ever used was the emblem from an old car. It doesn't need to even be round...use your imagination!

QuoteFrom the PDGA rule book: Mini marker discs shall be used to mark a player's lie as required by these rules. Mini marker discs must have a diameter of between 7 and 15 centimeters and a height not exceeding 3 centimeters.

There are a lot of things that are between 7 and 15 centimeters wide and not taller than 3 centimeters!

As seen on pdga.com, some time ago:

Bruce:
QuoteI've legally used

A lead Christmas ornament
A Bubblicious container
A hockey puck
A glass ash tray
A sterling silver ashtray circa 1905 from a New York Central System private Pullman car
A glass canning jar lid
Various bronze commemorative medalions
Various CDs
A chewing tobacco container
A small wheel
An antique Oldsmobile logo part of some kind
An antique tail light cover
Various "shrinky dink" melted plastic cups my girls made
A drinking cup lid
mididiscgolf:
QuoteWhat was the small wheel from?
Jon:
QuoteThe Olds part was the coolest mini ever! Bruce loses about 50 minis per year so it makes sense that he uses found objects for his minis. It would also make him a huge litter bug except that he picked those up off the course so its a break even in the pick up the litter, leave the mini on the ground ratio. ;)
Bruce:
QuoteIt looked like one of those polyurethane wheels from a Razor scooter.

A roll of electrical tape
A seashell coaster
A furniture coaster
A cardboard beer coaster
Altoids tins
Icebreakers tins
A collapsible plastic cup labeled "Avandia rosiglitazone maleate"
The little bit of stump you slice off the end of a Christmas tree so that it will absorb water

Oh, I just found the sterling silver ash tray. It is Reed & Barton and serially numbered 0210. Pullman used to give them away to VIPs. If you ever see me frisking myself every fifteen minutes while playing a round, I'm just checking to see if I've lost my sterling silver ash tray.
