Seems like a LOT of people are out there every time I've gone to play the past couple of weeks.  It was neat to see one entire family going out and playing.  The mom and dad were throwing, and there were 4 or 5 kids too all playing.

The only thing I don't like is that a lot of people were starting to do their drives while my group was trying to finish putting.  I know you don't always want to have to wait around, and I do let some groups play through, but I kept on feeling rushed and then botching throws even worse than I would normally botch them lol.  I opted to play at Lombard yesterday instead of Crystal Lake... kinda glad that I did.  FAR fewer people out playing, but there were at least 15-20 different players that I saw out there (and who knows how many were on parts of the course that I couldn't see).  Then I went and played Lombard Commons, LOTS of people there (including a bunch that were just over at Madison Meadows).

Every course in this area is getting more & more players. Wait until the nice weather comes. Crystal Lake, Adler, Fairfield, & BG will have swarms of players. I just love the groups of 10 & more. Yesterday there was an 8-some at Fairfield. I love chucker duck & run style golf.

Sorry I didn't see this until today, so you would have already made your decision by now.  Hit up Bartlett if you don't mind a lot of wind and you want a lot of open grip and rip holes.  There are a couple that have to go into a wooded area (not much at all), and then you are on top of some big hills for 2 different holes.  Throwing over the pond for a couple holes keeps things interesting.  I like Lombard better, but Bartlett isn't all that bad (they need a parking lot!)

I'll be playing Lippold today with my brother and possibly a couple others.  The place is going to be MOBBED today.  It's such a nice day out.  Look for the big guy with red hair and a black PDGA standard bag throwing LHBH and say hello   Not sure what time I'll be there though.

Ok, so I was out at Lippold today... yeah, it was worse than mobbed lol.  I had a group of 7 today (some friends of mine wanted to try out disc golf).  We stopped after 4 holes because there was probably at least 20 people that were slowed up partly due to our group.  3 of the 7 of my group were women playing for the first time, and right now throwing a disc is not quite their thing.  That slowed us down quite a bit too.  Instead we played the course at the middle school.  That course isn't all that bad if you want some goofy terrain shots.  Hole 8 is only about 110 feet, but it's at the bottom of a steep hill.  Hole 6 is pretty much a useless hole heh.  It's only maybe 130 foot wide-open shot.  I think only hole 4, 7, and 9 are long enough for me to use a driver on my first throw.  But for the entire group with a bunch of people that aren't used to playing it's a great course.  The biggest plus?  There's usually NO ONE there.  2 other people were there today, but that was it.

It was great to see so many people playing at Lippold, but you needed to have no more than 4 people in your group in order to be able to play through without too many problems.

Based on what I've seen at several local courses, I think all local courses will see record numbers of people this year.  Even with the cold weather of winter, I have run into several first time players already (weeeeee, I'm not the newest newbie anymore!!!!).  Good thing I work retail and am at work when the courses are busiest (kinda makes it hard to play leagues, though  ).

I think that would be a great idea but also be a really tough deal to push through since it's right off some of the other stuff at the park along with the pathway winding through it all.  One thing for sure is that the course desperately needs some new tees.  I'm afraid to throw from some of the tees for fear of stepping poorly on that dirt.  There's also some course upkeep needed like hole #8 only has the pole from the tee and not the sign, tee 18 sign is gone, some of the tee signs are worn off.  I think one other tee sign is gone too. (13 maybe?)

There is definitely room to fit in PLENTY more baskets though.  That park is huge.
