sunday's weather high 58 90% rain. sweet. i might have to sit this one out. whenever i have played events in the rain i've always thought during the round, 'man i wish i woudl have stayed home today' :D

try to remember this the next time there is 90% chance of rain all day.

Dan,  I definetly will. I was saying exactly that to myself during the round, but I guess we all have to try to play in the rain at least once, just to go to the school of hard knocks.

I keep imagining Charlie Brown standing on the pitcher's mound in a driving rainstorm wondering where everybody else is.  Ya gotta love the attiitude but...ok, you've taken enough @#%& over and above getting soaked to the gills...So, how many eager throwers were there?  I assume you weren't the only one who bailed after the first round.  Did anybody play the second?

DOH! I guess Lucy was the weatergirl......     :-[

All in all I'd say there were about 40-50 people max? I don't think there was a five-some anywhere on the course, and I actually played in a 3 man group.

Tom S., Tom M., and Jose from Discontinuum were there. Tom S. hit an Ace from what I hear, but not sure how much $ he got for it. I know Tom M. played the second as he had messaged me earlier, and I'm sure if Tom S. hit an Ace he stayed to get his $.

No Brett? I thought he was headed that way last wekeend...

From Tom S.
I shot a -9 second round to keep me in 2nd place behind Hutter who also shot a -9 second round nice pay out 130.00 for 2nd.There was another ace 2nd round so we split 118.00 Jose didnt want to talk about his round and I didnt look at the board so I dont think he did good.

I shot plus seven first round and minus one the second and finished last in Am Masters, the winner was plus one.  It rained like 27 mfs out there.  It was pretty miserable, but if I am driving 90 minutes I am finishing the day out.  I will think twice about doing it again, but would make the same decision knowing the results. It was good practice to throw in the rain, because the day will come when it is nice and we get stuck in a shower and hopefully I will be a little better prepared. I am guessing there were around 70 people, would have been 120 if it was nice.  I don't know how many left after the first round.  I am sure Chris wasn't alone.

Thankfully I was only about 35 minutes away. Though I did find out that Star plastic keeps a good grip when it's soaking wet.

You must be a pro, you are now referring to yourself in the third person. Sweet!

:D

There were a lot of factors that made up my mind Saturday night to stay home.

90% rain (hard rain)
55 degrees
Wind 25+
Slick rubber tee pads
Not so great course.

The final factor was I really didn't think more than 40 people would play. I didn't want to drive that far to play with no one. I was surprised to hear 70 or so played.

It actually worked out pretty good. I was able to spend the weekend with the wife which will help in the long run. She feels a lot better about letting me to go Tower Ridge/Wakanda and another 3 day trip.

I figured if a tournament wasn't able to motivate me to get out and play in the rain leagues wouldn't. Not to mention i'm playing doubles 3-4 times a week right now.
