One of the guys in our group today threw his Red Pro Valkyrie high up into a tree today at Oak brook on hole #5.  It was on the left side, about halfway down the fairway (before the small hill down).  We could see the disc up in the tree, but both of my tennis balls wound up also getting stuck in the tree (very thick evergreen tree).  I didn't have any baseball to throw up there so we left it.  It has his name (Marc) and number on the bottom of the disc.  I'll be checking on it, but just in case someone else from here picks it up...  Need some wind to bring it down!

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,

I was walking my pet iguanas Bruiser and Bertha last night, along with my two friends Lance and Rock.  We saw the frisbee in the tree and it was so exciting getting it down. Since I worked so hard at getting down, I had to put it up on ebay. Lance and Rock will tell you I am telling the truth. Why anyone would abandon a frisbee in a tree is beyond me.  I guess they just didn't want the disc any more, so it is mine mine mine. At least for a little while, you will be able to find it on ebay tomorrow. We are going to take the proceeds and share a hot oil bath.  I love spoiling my boys. :knob: :knob: :knob: :knob:

Well maybe if I had Lance with me he could have thrown Bruiser up into the tree in order to get the disc down, but you wouldn't want something to happen like that to Bruiser would you?  What would Bertha think?  She might be traumatized for life, and then she'll attack Rock and we'll never know if he would like the hot oil bath as much as he said he would!

LOL oh man that was great.

I know the exact tree you're talking about. I threw one up there & had a different disc come down when I was tossing things at my disc. I eventually had to climb partway up & shake a branch. That tree is stingy.

Yeah, we saw another white disc up there too.  Thankfully everything I've thrown I've been able to get back out.  Some of the trees have been hit so much lately that they are starting to thin out a little bit and aren't hanging onto the discs as much.  So we're pruning (can't say it's the best way to prune though) and helping the discs sail through a little bit better now.

hope the snow melts so that we can go out there again today.  I've been told that there are plans to put in rubberized tees on that course eventually, so it's going to be a great short, tough course very soon.  It's too bad they didn't put in a couple more baskets from about in between 7 and 8 and throwing back towards 7's tee with a basket coming back as well so that it's a still a short walk to where 8's tee is currently.  Then maybe move 9's basket to a tough anhyzer spot, and start a new tee on the other side of the pavilion back to where 9's basket currently is.  Ah well, I'll just stick with the commonly numbered 9-basket course.  It's frustrating enough already :P

I think that I'm going to have to throw Bruiser AND Bertha up there because we went out there again today and the disc hasn't budged!  I brought a baseball today instead of my usual tennis ball and chucked it up there a couple times with no luck.  It's mostly a blind throw and just hope that the ball hits the right branch as it's coming down.

At least I'm getting better at the course.  Until last week my best for this evil 9-hole course was a 40.  I threw a 34 last Wednesday evening and then a 36 today.  Still not great, but 39 is the posted par.  I like forgiving posted pars :)

We were able to recover this disc today.  It still hadn't gone anywhere.  Bruiser and Bertha were also lost in the tree.  Unfortunately I lost one of my discs on another hole.  I'll start a new thread about that one.
