Maddisen is starting to grow out of the teen craptastic TV shows but some of those shows are way worse than Happy Feet. I don't remember Happy Feet really well but if I recall it was mostly an adventure story. The trailers actually ARE worse than the movie itself. However, I must admit that I never watched Happy Feet all the way through.

Role Models is a pretty funny movie.  But is absolutely a rental, not one to see at the theatre. But with the new Harry Potter being delayed there isn't much else to see.

As holiday season is coming up, I always try and watch my two favorite holiday movies, Near Dark and Runaway Train.

Transporter 3. If you liked the first two Transporter movies, you will like this one. Great action.  There was a line in the movie, where Jason Statham said, "Frank. Frank Martin." It did remind me of the Bond movies.  Overall worthwhile seeing at the theatre.

Did see a preview for The Spirit, the new Frank Miller movie that is coming out on Christmas Day, I believe this is from the same person that did Sin City. It looks the same stylistically. I am looking forward to seeing it.

Last night at the extended family Thanksgiving dinner  my cousin offered a choice of movies. The consensus was for Hancock.  I was interested in it as I was intrigued by the idea of a loser superhero.  The first half of the movie was OK and the rest of it was awful.  The idea of superheroes and collateral damage was done WAY better in The Incredibles.  Watching the lame Hancock made me want to see a kiddie movie again.

this isnt a movie but does anyone watch the hbo series true blood? the 1st season just ended but can still be veiwed ondemand. its about how vampires are going mainstream and out in the public. based mostly in a small southern town. its hard to explain everything that happens but its a great series

Saw Quantum of Solace this weekend & I pretty much agree with Tom's post regarding it.

Opening song was poor (Jack White & Alicia Keys? who picked that musical combo, jeez) and I thought there should've been at least 2 more confontation/action sequences. The "Big Secret" wasn't even guarded? WTF?
The homage to Goldfinger felt like a last minute add-on. I expected another 20 minutes of movie at the end also, it seemed like there should've been more.

I own in one format or another almost all of the Bond flicks, but I won't be purchasing this one.

I take it that you were neither shaken nor stirred.

True Blood got me hooked right away - and I don't watch tv much at all.
Each episode had a good hook at the end, but now there's a new killer . . . .
This series is so well done that I don't mind waiting until next June for season 2!

Oh yeah, and Iron Man ROCKS!!!

Evan Almighty - meh, didn't care for the plot too much.  All of those animals just happened to live in that small area and needed to board an ark?  Not something I'd be interested in watching again.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull or whatever it's called - I have not seen all 3 previous Jones movies all the way through - I was too young when they first come out and have only watched when my dad randomly had it on the tv over the past years.  I don't understand why so many people did not like this movie.  Was it the sci-fi element to it?  That was probably the only part that I wish was done differently, but overall I enjoyed the movie a great deal.  I'll probably add the dvd to my collection :)

Final Fantasy VII - really cool CG, but that's about it.  not worth watching again.

I saw Twilight last weekend. I was a little bored. Didn't hook me like Buffy or True Blood.

Probably the best comedy musical ever made and at the same time tackled some of the best dramatic moments in the Buffy being brought back to life story arch.

I just watched The Ruins yesterday. Let me say, unless you like a lot of gore, don't see it. Not much of a story, basically was set up to just be a gory. There was quite a bit I couldn't watch, but some people may enjoy it. If you wanna know more let me know, otherwise I won't be adding more to it, as it would give away what the movie is really about.

I just watched "How's Your News". Strange and unusual but funny. I especially enjoyed the segments where the guys who were incapable of speech did on the street interviews. Venice beach was also hilarious.

The Dark Knight
Ledger was great, story was convoluted, sound was murky, Chicago looked great, an hour too long, liked the first one way more.

Jim hit the bullseye on this one. Boring as a son of b. Way, way, way too long. Ledger was creepy as hell. Some great shots of the city, but there wasn't one scene in this movie worth seeing more than once.

Hellboy 2 is very good, even better knowing that they used minimal CGs.

The first 20 minutes of Wall-E was great, overall the movie was very good.

I saw twilight not to long ago if u r in romance type movies then this one is for u but it was above average so i give it 3 out of 5

airspuds

I did not think Dark Knight was all that bad. Yes, a little predictable and long. You could see the Rookery Building in several shots of LaSallle Street.
The family got sick of "  Hey, there's the building I work in !"

We also rented War Inc.  (  review to follow ) .
