Has the decision been made to the pin placement locations for the tournament? There is a work day this weekend (Saturday) and we'd like to make sure we start to get things looking pretty. There is a good chance that some of the holes could be moved on this day as the guys with the keys will be out there. Please be advised, Hole #4 around the corner is not an option at this time.

If someone could let me know the locations I'd appreciate it.

Sergio,
Is #4 an equipment problem? Just wondering if we'd be able to set up a temp basket.

Here is a link to the thread. I've attached a document that has the pin positions.

A temp basket would work.

This the basket that had the attempted theft. The basket w/sleeve was taken out of the ground. We need to re-anchor the sleeve.

Thanks for that info Serg! I'll have a temp out there both days. That saves my butt of the Safari holes ;D.

I just realized that the new pre-reg rule might apply to this tournament, so I'll tell everyone what it is:

If you pre-reg for this event and then new ratings come out within two weeks before the event that put you in a different division, you can play this one under your old rating.

Yes, another new rule you did not know about!   ;D

The 15-day weather guess is optimistic:

Mostly sunny. Winds from the E at 6 mph. High: 54° F RealFeel: 56° F

Two reminders:

1.  Brass Sidebet.  On Saturday Diana will be running the Brass Sidebet for all advanced amateur eligible players who want to get in.  This is for players who want to put their 15 Brass to work in a brass payout sidegame.  It will be 100% payout.  If you spend your player pack and then say, "Ooof!  I wanted in on the sidebet," I can sell you another 15 Brass player pack for $10.  The payout is going to be all brass because we aren't looking to rock the PDGA boat.

Cool dyed trophy discs are being prepared for all divisions with pre-reg'd players.  We don't have any juniors pre-reg'd.  Our junior girls are all planning on playing in the women's divisions except Kelsey who is playing rec men.  If there are any junior boys out there planning on playing in a junior division, it is not too late to pre-reg.  Same for grandmasters.

During the 1st Rd of both days there will be a CTP for a Marshall Street DVD. There will also be a CTP for a 2006 DISContinuum membership for anyone who has never been a member of DISContinuum.

I'm planning on going to this IOS event this year but I haven't been there before.  On this website it gives you an option to get driving directions so if you're like me and haven't been there, I hope this helps:  http://www.uwp.edu/departments/union/discgolf/parking.html

For those of you that have been there before, is it easy to find once at the campus?  If there are any specific directions that would help me find it that would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Josh

I've been there once, and it was not difficult for me at all to get there.  I came in on East on E from 94 exit 339.  I think it's 5 miles or so from there to G (Wood Rd).  It's at a stop sign.  Turn left from there and head north.  Respect the speed limit (35mph) because I saw at least 1 car pulled over when I came in, and 1 or 2 when I left.  You'll see lots of signs that talk about the campus.  Go up to the second road on the left, Outer loop Rd... it's not too hard to find, and then the parking lot will be on your left.  There's a BIG sign for the course, so it shouldn't be too hard to miss.

Actually, this will help even more http://www.uwp.edu/departments/union/discgolf/uwpcourse.html  Match up Outer Loop rd with what you have on your map from their driving direction map, and you're set.

Of 11 events so far that we've run (1 in 2003, 3 in 2004, & 7 in 2005)  Rockford is the only event that has gone past 5pm. There has been many times that we've been done by 4pm. It is unpredictable though. If you have plans that night that are important i'd say do not play but if you are worried about getting home late, we've never had any problems except that insane day with that many players at Rockford. The field is limited to 100 players at Parkside. The worst case scenario that i'd see would be 5-somes on all 20 holes which would probably take 3 hours for a round.

I'd just add that on the upper day, as soon as the pros are in from their Final 4 we are ready to go with awards.  Also, while the pros are playing their Final 4, if anyone needs to leave early, we are o.k. with doing some early payouts once we have everything else ready to go.

On the lower day, if there are no playoffs for trophy spots, we are ready to go with the awards about five minutes after the last card comes in.

Baskets are in their placements.

A little more wood chips need to be added to hole #8. It's been really wet around that hole so we couldn't get in there without causing a big mess.

stpitner put it perfectly. Follows his directions and you'll find it fine. You even drive past hole #3 and #4. Once you see the course you'll know to turn left.
