Bruce,

I thought the "fly life" contest was pretty cool.  Interesting to have something to play for within your group to motivate you to play a little better regardless of your score the previous round.  Thanks for a fun day.

I apologize that you did not get what you wanted. I was not able to get out the club merchandise until right before lunch time. We need a volunteer to watch merch at events. Yesterday we did not get out the merchandise since we had no non playing volunteers. We had a few non playing volunteers take turns today at lunch & after the 2nd round watching merchandise. Registration time is the busiest time and we did not have a helper to watch merch this morning. I did not see your post about meeting until just now. I was at the course pretty much from Friday afternoon until now only stopping at home to sleep Friday & Saturday nights.

What a monster weekend again! 200+ players again. Thanks for all that attened and helped out. The ace pool was not hit. It will go down at Crystal Lake.

Last year Crystal Lake had 155 players. 92 on the Int/Rec/Jr day & 63 on the Adv/Pro day. We have seen a HUGE increase in attendance this year.

Parkside  2005->101, 2006->200+ with 3 players turned away.
Lombard 2005-> 140, 2006-> 200+ with about 7 players turned away.

PLEASE PREREGISTER If you don't please plan to get there around 8am when registration opens. Any preregistered players need to check in by 9am or their spots will be given away to other players.

Don't worry about it it wasnt that big of a deal, I just wish I would have known cause I broke my ankle on Saturday and had a tough time getting there on Sunday, to no avail.  And in the forum post is said that someone would be available pretty much all day.  I was told that after lunch items would be available, but with the ankle I just couldn't wait around.  But don't worry about it I understand that its more important that the tournement get run.

Had a good time despite shooting pretty much my worst ever tournament golf on both days.  Thanks again to everyone.

How I actually won some brass on Sunday, I dont know.  There is no way I deserved any kind of reward-  I should have had to pay in at the end of the day.  I shouldnt be allowed near any flying objects for at least a week.

...so who is up for some monday night doubles?

lol, I'll take your brass, I didn't win any :) j/k

It was definitely a lot of fun out there though.  I'm just glad that I didn't choke on my first tournament day.  For me I threw better than I had ever thrown before on that course, so I'm happy.  I achieved my goal of not last place lol.

My sweetest moment was a 100'+ deuce on hole 20.  That goes down as my longest putt shot that I've ever hit! :)  Thank you Bruce for the awesome dyed Champ Spider!

FOR REAL, I was one of the 7 turned away...at least in the AM.  Luckily for me, someone DNF'd so I took their spot in the second round.  Had a pretty good second round too (66)  :( so it really sucked not to play in the AM.

Another word of advice bring some sunscreen if your are susceptible to burn as my neck is fried today  ;D

200+ players: Attendance was huge.  After trying twice to accomodate everyone [Saturday at Kenosha and Saturday at Lombard] we've come to the conclusion that 100 players per day is our limit.  We have a great crew of tournament assistants, but 100 players is as many as we can handle, especially on the lunch hour when the 1/2 of our crew who are playing that day need to get fed and watered while the other half take care of the tournament.  We're sorry for those who did not get in.  The only answer is to pre-register or show up EARLY.

Flight Life was sponsored by Hot Rags.  They wanted a lot of discs with their business information on them to get distributed widely to the players.  The Throw Discraft player pack and Flight Life were a way of accomplishing that.  Please check out their stores.  Support the retailers who support the sport.

The Throw Discraft player pack was sponsored by Discraft.  Discraft gives us great deals and we can pass them along to players who can find a place for some Discraft discs in their bag.  If you throw an Aviar or a Wizard, you can probably find a place for a Challenger.  If you throw a Roc or an Element, check out the Wasp and the Buzzz.  For the long game, the Flash, Wildcat, Crush, Avenger, Surge, Talon and Predator offer a wide spectrum of stability and glide combinations.  Every time I order Discraft we can do a Throw Discraft player pack.  The more Discraft you choose for prizes, the more often we can do that.

Pre-register now for IOS #3.  The "C" on the am side means nothing.  We're running the same show we run everywhere we go:  Pick-your-own 15 Brass player packs, generous payouts and CTPs, same-day PDGA on-line scoring for the Advanced and Pros, and hopefully the Intermediate and Rec scores get up by the next day.  The "C" on the am side means if you all show up for it and pack the course, we save $150 on what we send to the PDGA.  They wanted the C.  They got it.  We'll give the savings back to the players and volunteers.

Glad to see day 2 scores up :)

How in the world did that guy in rec throw a 140 in round one and then follow it with a 66 round?  What in the world happened?

I'm guessing that was Chains' 2nd round after filling the spot of whomever DNF'ed the first round.

Bruce Brakel

That is correct.  He got all 7s for the first round for being "late to the tee."  The score will be so low it will have no effect on his rating.

BTW: is "late to the tee" some kind of universal term?
