William Wilbur Wallis is running unopposed for PDGA Illinois State Coordinator for the term Feb. 1, 2003 to Jan. 31, 2005. His qualifications are listed on the supplemental candidate sheet provided with the ballots.

I do not think that Mr. Wallis has done a poor job of representing Illinois in the past, but I am in favor of choices. Toward that end, I am announcing my write-in candidacy for the position of PDGA Illinois State Coordinator. My qualifications are as follows:

I started playing disc golf in 1978 when the Adler (Libertyville) original 9 hole course was installed. I was Co-TD of the Adler Handicapped Doubles; Assistant TD of Lizard Doubles and Shadow Doubles; Volunteer at the 2000 combined Pro/Am Worlds, Illinois State Championships, and several other Illinois tournaments; Member of Discontiuum and a supporting member of the Baycourt Junior Girls' League.

I see Illinois as a baby in the world of disc golf. Not very big, but with much potential. It needs to be fed, and organizing a state tour is a logical first course. I know that Mr. Wallis' goals for the next two years include a state tour. I support that idea and will work toward making it a reality, whether elected or not.

If you think that I would make a good state coordinator for Illinois, I ask you write-in my name, JON BRAKEL, in the Write-in Candidate line under the State of Illinois on the PDGA Coordinator Ballot.

Thank you,

Jon Brakel

Bruce, nice promo (paragraph on election ballot) for your campaign. I might write you in for IL.

What's the scoop on brother Jon?  Is he in league with the forces of darkness - or worse - the Winnicrew?  That eye means something . . . . . . (but at least it isn't flying)....

So, in 2002 there's no mention of multiple events at Adler....

Thanks for the research, Mirth! Since the name of the event sounds plural "Doubles" perhaps Mr. Guest thought I was saying it was more than one event.

Or maybe he read it that Lizard Doubles and Shadow Doubles were Adler events.  The sentence begins with two Adler references and then has a couple of items that are not geographically located.  Those four tournaments [seven if you use PDGA math!] were in Michigan in 2001 and 2002 in Milford, Northville and Ludington.
