Jon is correct. There is no clear rule on bumbing a player. I do believe the rule states that whoever wins the lower division for the year has to play upper in the next years series. As far as during the current season, no such rule exists.



The case with Shawn C was special in that there was no competition. He was beating the lower field by a huge margin and on some occasions would have taken 1st in the upper anyways.



As far as Damon goes, while he has been winning it hasn't been utter and total domination.



All that being said though I will take the information Brett put up and compile a more concrete set of rules and get it posted.

Basically my opinion is that the bump rule will be treated not as a rule but a special situation, when found needed by the club officers.

It would seem like implementing a new rule, but I have a vested interest in seeing Damon stay lower also. So, I'll suggest that Jay as the Safari Director make the final say.

Thanks for the math Bruce, for now(rest of this season) there is going to be no written in stone bump rule, except that whoever wins the lower division at the end of the year needs to play in the upper division in the next years safari.



As for next season there may be a bump rule, but as I said, not for now. Any bumping may be done as a non-biased judgement call when their is a clear case of bagging.



So to put the Damon thing back into light, Damon have fun! Your not bagging so stay in Lower unless you felt the carnal urge to bump yourself up have fun in lower (just lose all the rest to me so you don't have to play upper next year :D )

We are playing all 24 holes and in the case of a hole having a long tee(red) we will play that. On all other holes only having a short tee(white) we will play those.

I personally am in favor of a playoff at Bevier or any other course for that matter in the case of a series tie.

I dislike that because in theory that could come down to 2 events. Assuming player A only makes the first 7 events and player B only makes the last two events.



Now what if player A beat player B at the two events they played together, or only at one of them, but event player B lost at he/she threw unconcievably bad does that mean player A is the better player and should win the whole thing based on those two events? Well maybe, but not nessarily and the whole point was based on your 7 best events, not 2.



I think some sort of playoff is the best option. I'm against going back through the scores.
