Looks like Discraft.com has the new Elite-Z Surge on their website!  I have the ESP Surge, but I wonder how the Elite-Z Surge will throw in comparison.  It still has a 1.7 stability rating like in the ESP plastic.

What Innova disc does the Surge fly like?  I haven't thrown all of the different models enough to be able to compare.  I don't even want to guess lol.

i have thrown the surge in tournament play, so i think its a really good disc.  i'd say its somewhere between a CFR Wraith and Star Teerex in stablility and just as fast as either.  I would recommend this disc.

The Z Surge is allegedly a little more overstable than the ESP but the thumb pad makes it less overstable.  I've been gardening this month so I have not seen the new Z-Surge with or without the thumb pad.

Very accurate. If I were to add 1 thing. The ESP plastic is the grippiest(dont laugh the forums dont have spell checker  ) plastic when is gets wet. You still have to wipe it off but its stays tacky. Very nice feature . I really like this disc myself.

Its weird that you say that, because I thought the exact opposite.  I threw one yesterday for the first time, and the disc was a little wet...  I couldnt grip it well at all.  I needed to towel it off over and over again before I could get a good grip on it.  I still think Gateway S is the best wet plastic.  I like the way the surge flies, though.  It reminded me of an even faster starfire.

Maybe it likes my baby soft skin.   O0

On hole 8 at Lombard, with Tom McManus and Pat Tower as my witnesses, I threw it basket long on Saturday and made the putt for a 2.  This disc is awesome.  I can't throw 400 feet.  This is the magic disc.   ;D

I was just talking to Pad Timmons at Discraft and, yeah, it looks like I'll have some Ultra Grip Z Surges for IOS #3.  I have to talk to Erich tomorrow to be sure.  Those will probably be about 13 Brass.

Pad was also talking up the SuperColor Spectras which are pricey, but apparently they go a long ways when thrown with LESS power.  He was bragging about how far Barrett was throwing them and how far he could throw them even with his bad back.  The first time I threw them I thought they were too flippy.  Pad says I was probably over-powering them, because he and I have played some rounds together and he knows how I throw.  The only problem with the SuperColor Spectras, and SuperColor anything, is that they ask TDs to toe the line on pricing on those, and I go along when they ask me to.  SuperColor has to be priced at 20 Brass, but we could do a SuperColor player pack option.  If anyone has some SuperColorful artwork they'd like to donate to the process, let me know.  Kyle offered a really cool abstract thing, but it is kind of earth toned and maybe not the best color for finding in the woods.  I like it as art but not so much as a disc I'm looking for in the woods!

my brother does a lot of computer graphic stuff.  Perhaps I can ask him to see if he's interested in making something?

Here is some stuff that he has made:

Among the new stuff I will have Z Surges with the Ultra Grip pad at IOS #3, along with a good assortment of Challengers, Cryztal and ESP Buzzzes and Z Wasps.  I'm also buying a 3-year supply of Z Expresses and Predators.  In order to get the best deals and pass them along to our players, sometimes I have to buy a few more than I want!  The trophy discs will be dyed Elite X Challengers.    These will all have the 2006 IOS logo on them.

I'll start an IOS #3 thread to talk about the IOS #3 Throw Discraft Player Pack and other IOS #3 stuff.
