Well, I heard thru the grapevine that Justin Bunnell from the St. Louis area might possibly be making the trip.

Registered for sunday.  See you all there.  Anyone else interested in carpooling let me know - I'm leaving sunday and might be driving with a few people (depending on whether they are also playing Saturday or not).

Two tournaments I use for a benchmark for Rockford are the Gayle Vaughn and the No Foolin'.  Both of those tournaments have two good 24 hole courses so they can accomodate as many as want to play.  For both tournaments the courses are in the same park or in the same green belt even if the parks are a couple of miles apart.  Both of those tournaments are ones that people come from all over to play, but they are only one-day or split-day B-tiers.  And they are both in the middle of a really big disc golf population.

We already have as many as the Gayle Vaughn.  Every other IOS has been bigger than the No Foolin.

quick question - if half the field is playing on one course and half on the other, will the round ratings be skewed or is there a way of differentiating between the two fields on both rounds?

Each round on each course will be rated separately.

Bruce? Greg?

Its gonna be one of those types of weekends.  You know, jalapeno hot, tabasco hot, devilishly hot >:D, back of my neck feeling dirty and gritty hot, really @#$& hot.

Will either the Waterford girls or some locals be hawking liquids?  I think they would make some money on this. Frankly, this would be the type of event where a golf cart running around with a cooler would be a great idea. In any case, I will pack lots of ice and a few extra shirts and see you this weekend.

maybe that questions was poorly put together.  lets say 50 adv are on the old side and 50 pros on the new side.  half the players round 1 scores will be different than the the other half that is on the other side.  so when it is entered into the pdga website will the old side be differentiated from the new side or will round 1 just be entered in as if everyone were playing the same course?

I thought the players on each course are playing different rounds.  There will be four rounds for the day:

round 1 old
round 1 new

round 2 old
round 2 new

oh yes - there will be hawking of liquids.  i am 99% that the waterford girls will be swinging lemonades, ice tea, and all the other stuff.  my little brother will be peddling $2 32oz Gatorades of all varietes.  all liquids will be ice cold and ready to be served!

also, i am trying to talk a friend of mine into making a ton of shish-kabobs (probably spelled way off - so sound it out).  shes a great cook and what i am hoping is that the price per stick will be like 70 cnets or so (think cherry tomatoes, onions, peppers, animal flesh, etc...).  our idea was just to take donations for them, hopefully at a buck a piece so she can a make a few dollars for the efforts and everybody gets fed well with some real food at lunch.  we'll be talking tonight about it so i should know by the morning if she'll do it or not.

exactlly!  the typical tournament doesnt have to factor in two seperate courses within one round's time for different players - so is there a way to register that so that it shows that the players that played the one side dont get weighted into the players that played the other side during the same rounds time?

We are bringing a couple of coolers that we are going to stock with bottled water and gatorade on ice.  I'm not sure where they will be on the courses or who will be at the popstand.

Everyone will get accurate ratings.  The TD just has to set up the template correctly before uploading the scores.  Jon has that covered.  We may have too many players for same-day ratings.  Or we may have enough volunteers that Jon can do only that and the volunteers can cover everything else.

FOUR ROUNDS in one day???   :o

How will that be possible?  A casual 18 hole round is between 1 to 1.5 hours.  A tourney round can double that, add 1.5 hours lunch that's 7.5 hours of golf for two rounds, then do another break ... and so on and so on and so on .................

What's the final format?

First round, some will play old & some new. Second round the same. 2 rounds, 1 on each course.

This isn't bible from my mouth by any means, though, but besides an Ironman-style event, I haven't seen many "4 rounds in 1 day" tournaments.

sorry for any confusion - it is still two rounds each day.  what the four rounds is about is that one group will play the old side first then the new side, while anoter group plays the new side first then the old side - so there are four different sets of round ratings even though there are only two rounds played.

Two rounds per day for any particular player.  One day tournament.  Saturday pre-registration has reached the point where we will be running two pools per day, one on each course, then you'll switch courses for the second round.  Advanced Men will be one pool.  Everyone else will be the other pool.

We will keep Sunday in one pool if Sunday stays below 80 players.  Otherwise we'll split.  I don't mean split into two pools.  I mean take the money and run.   ;D

I'd tell you where we stand with pre-reg but pdga.com is taking a nap.

I have a ton of merch, by the way.  I ordered for two tournaments.  Peoria was almost a half tournament.  There will definately be no shortage of Star Wraiths this time, either.  I have 60 of them.
